Well, as you can tell I’m on the plane — and drinking a well-earned mimosa!
When I got to the gate they told me I had been “randomly selected” for screening. It wasn’t as traumatising as I expected. No unpacking required. They opened one of my bags and swabbed it. They swabbed my hands and shoes. And my iPad. Took a couple of minutes max.
Phew! Now maybe I can relax! The Upper Class cabin is cosy and — crucially for me — not at all claustrophobic. I can get in and out whenever I want. And stretch out. Cabin crew seem attentive.
Holiday starts here!

Wow! Great news about the screening! I been swabbed a few times but they told me until I got to security. Great seat!

That looks like an amazing way to travel! Glad things weren’t as tramatic as expected. It’s got to be a bit of a relief or the way home as well.
