Transportation to an early tour

We have an 8am Keys to the Kingdom tour booked for tomorrow morning. Magic Kingdom opens at 9am, with 8:30 early entry. We are staying at Boardwalk. Any suggestions for how to get to Magic Kingdom by 7:45?

The first bus should come around 7am, so that’s when I’d be at the bus stop. You could also call a Minnie Van.

I thought the buses didn’t start until an hour before park open?

I think that’s what they tell people, but not the truth. There are some experienced rope droppers here to confirm.

I know I was on a bus at 7:15ish for 8:30 early entry in January.

Yeah, the first bus always beats the first cars (an hour before opening). It might actually get there closer to 7:15 but I would be at the stop before 7.

What about Minnie Vans? How early can we book them?

Minnie Vans should start early too.

We did the 8am tour last Friday and they didn’t even open the tap points until 7:45. I’m so bad, I just assumed the park would be open at 7:30. OOPS.

We had a great time. I highly recommend it!

When rope dropping I’m usually at the bus stop before 7. I’m happy to wait at the bus stop for that first bus.

For a scheduled 8:30 opening I’d figure on being in a bus by 7. Which means I want to be at the bus stop by about 6:50 or 6:55. If I’m really interested in getting to the park as early as possible, I might be at the bus stop slightly before 6:40, with these times.

We rope dropped MK twice this week from Boardwalk. Got to the bus stop by 7am both times and the buses arrived between 7:10 and 7:15. Both times we got to MK just before 7:30 and the buses were held until 7:30 on the dot. Then they all parked and we breezed through security. Taps opened at 7:45-7:50. But I bet you could find a CM at that point to see if they’d let you head in even earlier.

There should be a dedicated tour check in area/gate?

Where do they hold the buses?

Right at the entrance to the bus stalls. And at drop off, they fill whatever slots are available. So the first day, our BW bus pulled in to one of the slots closest to security. On the second day, we had to pull around to the next lane over.

Interesting! I’ve never experienced that before! I guess it must not cause a backup on that main road for other traffic?

We did that same time last month and we had to take Minnie Van to Contemp and walk from there. We were still held up at security on the walkway from Contemporary until 7:45, which is what time we had been told to check in, but it wasn’t a problem at all when we got there closer to 8.

How interesting that they did it that way. First, they refuse to let guests do that. But also, Minnie Vans typically drop off curbside by the security checkpoint, which saves a few steps.

Both the front desk at WL and the Minnie van driver told us this was the only way to get to MK by 8 am for Keys with the times that the monorails, ferries, boats, buses, etc were running.

This is exactly how it was for us last July.
