So I’m torn, taking my wife and 2 kids (under 3 and under 6 months) in a month. HS day is a crowd level of 5, MK day is a 3. As much as I keep going through each touring plan, I can’t tell if I should get LL or not. I really only want LL to use for rides we plan on using RS on (Falcon with kid, Slinky with kid, Rockin without kid at HS and 7 Dwarves with kid, Tiana without kid, Tron without kid, Barnstormer with kid) any better info anywhere on what LL times to get beyond just as early as possible? Or am I over planning and should just get no LL or just LL for the RS without the kids attractions so one parent isn’t with both kids alone for too long?
Help me chat, you’re my only hope
I would get the LLMP and SPs if it fits in your budget. First, RS takes so much extra time and second so the adults aren’t waiting in long lines alone. I think you will be glad to have it.

Unless you’re committed to trying to be at the front of rope drop line or staying until late at night, personally I would still get LL if Slinky is on your must list. That line gets long and hot, which can be rough on littles.
MK, with a good touring plan, is more doable without LL in my opinion.
Have you looked at the touring plans or made your own? TP has a great chart of wait times for each ride by crowd level.

Ah thanks for the feedback! I have looked through many TP on the Lines app, but I haven’t found a chart for line waits by crowd level
I’m not sure if it works in the app, but in the website, I click on the crowd calendar. Then I click on “See all details” and scroll down to see the list of attractions and wait times, broken down by time periods. I hope that helps!

My opinion is always “not LL”. That’s also includes LL single passes with exception of those that have only virtual queues and you fear not getting one. Trust the touring plans, refresh on the Lines app. If the crowd levels are projected to be between 3 and 5, you’ll be fine even if the wife and kids are slowing you down.
We just got back. We were in Magic Kingdom 1/14 and 1/15
Granted we did not rope drop; and got to the parks at a very leisurely 11am but mine train wait was always very long. 50 minutes to 70 minutes whenever I looked. We actually managed it 1/19 when the rain got bad and the wait got down to 40 minutes.
I am in the always Lightning Lane if it’s in your budget crowd. But my groups tolerance for for 40+ minute waits is very low. We saw 40+ minute waits on most everything we were interested in: pirates, haunted mansion, space mountain, jungle cruise, heck Winnie the Pooh posted those waits while we were there.
If we’d rope dropped and not taken long lunch breaks and stayed till close and walked faster and further I’m sure we could have managed to ride most everything with a reasonable wait. But my party ( two seniors, 3 40ish adults, and kids 10,7,3) isn’t in a place to hit the parks that aggressively.
I will say if extra evening hours is an option, that’s a good way to ride everything without lightning lane. That’s my best advice for riding everything.
