Hi all, not sure if anyone can help with this but thought I would ask anyway.
I currently have a package with tickets booked for May of this year. I would like to purchase an AP before the price goes up for use on two trips I will be taking in January and July of 2026.
If I get the annual pass now, and take my trip in may, when I visit the parks will that start my countdown on my AP to where it would expire in May of 2026 or will it use the tickets from my package and not start my AP countdown until I end up using it in January of 2026?
I don’t want to go purchasing it now if this May trip will mess up the expiration date of the AP for 2026.
Any information will be very much appreciated and thank you in advance!

I’ve had a similar situation. You have to ask Guest Services to “prioritize” your park tickets in the system so that when you first enter a park, it pulls the tickets rather than the APs.

Great, thanks for the info! I’m assuming I would only need to do that once at the beginning of the trip and not every park day?

Yes, on one trip I did it at Guest Services before I entered Epcot, and another time, a CM was actually able to do it for me before my trip over the phone.
ETA: Once the park tickets were activated, I did not have to keep re-prioritizing them. It automatically pulled from the activated park tickets.
