So excited for this! DD and I will be there 5 days after it opens 
At first I thought “Ooh…maybe they’ll do a soft opening while I’m there…” but 2 weeks out is almost definitely wishful thinking.
It opens 5 days after we leave. Oh, well, at least we can have some of the fall/Halloween treats while we are there.
I thought the same thing, but our last park day is Sept. 1.

I didn’t even bother to look at the Halloween stuff. I knew it would start after I leave.
I will be there when it opens!
I’m taking my family to DLR in October so we may be able to try this if it isn’t an ordeal. Sounds like it’s QS since they say you will be able to mobile order? Hope the options are suitable for picky eaters!

Any slight hope I had of a soft opening this week was squelched when I saw all the walls still around it. 
I don’t know about you, but last week I noticed SO many walls. Did August become the new February? Because the only other times I’ve seen so many walls without there being a major rehaul project (like addition or overhaul of a whole land), has been in February.
This is only my third time here - but my first was for the DL Half in 2011 (so Labor Day weekend) and it was wall city then with them building Carsland, Jolly Holiday, and I think a few other things!
Oh interesting. We go a lot in August & around Labor Day weekend used to be an annual tradition for us and I don’t usually see so many walls!! I was happy to be there walls or not, but I remember noting the amount of walls and refurbs and the fact it was summer.
I will say, at least we can see them working on RSR. Just looks like guys doing construction on roads.

One of the vloggers I follow does weekly updates from DLR (rotates among the two parks, DD, and the resorts). He pointed out tons of construction and refurbs this summer and noted that it seems summer is a “slower” time now and gets the closures.
Interesting that they have gumbo z’herbes; you don’t see that very often. No seafood gumbo, though. Looking at the pictures… that ain’t gumbo.
Yes, it’s definitely felt that way this summer. I guess the less crowds are nice but if the summer guests are paying the top $$$ it is to come in the summer, maybe have it spiffied up already? But also, I, me personally, am just happy to be there period so I try not to think about how much more I paid to be there with refurbs.
