Awesome! Thanks so much for the update. I still have my reservation set up at The Anaheim Hotel. My package deal is so good that I didn’t want to cancel until I got some updates. ($1475 for two people - 5 days / 6 nights - 2 king beds with DLR tickets included) Plus, my TA is going out to DLR in a couple months and is going to look at the rooms too.
I really appreciate you remembering to let me know!!
EDIT - After talking to the authors of The Unofficial Guide, multiple times, about this it seems that they had more of an issue with front desk staff than the actual rooms. (Mostly not getting the room preference requested.) However, that shouldn’t be a reason to put the hotel on a “NEVER stay here no matter what” list and no longer provide any info about the hotel. I got my copy of the UOG for free so I can’t complain. However, hotel information was one of the major reason I picked it up.
EDIT #2 (ALMOST A YEAR LATER!) - I saw this video about The Anaheim Hotel and it feels pretty honest. Since my trip got cancelled due to COVID, I’ll be rebooking my future trip at a different place
It had a cute lobby, there was never any hectic chaos there when we were heading out ( early) or going back ( early) .
The grounds were open, and calm feeling. I didn’t get any hustle and bustle vibes when I was at the resort.
Room was dated ( 2023) but clean.
Bathroom was old, and shower looked like it was painted with glossy paint to appear fresh.
It was a year ago but that’s what I remember in my head.
Pool water was too chilly to enjoy, and dd enjoyed the lawn games and roaming the resort.
Now, im debating about going back ( due to pricing still being one of least expensive on harbor) but Fairfield Inn is the same price, and appears to be the same distance- so we may give that motel a try on the next trip if the price is lower/ the same.
Thanks for the YouTube link, I’ll have some video watching to do!
I really like the courtyard Marriott theme park entrance but price is almost double, hojo has some great mousesaver discounts! Dd is tempted by the bunk beds there
After COVID, in 2022, I got an AP for Universal. I fell in love with it. I now try to go every couple months. I swear I’m trying to go to DLR in 2025, but no promises!
I have stayed here multiple times and it is perfectly acceptable. Rooms are very obviously old and spartan with a very cosmetic refurb, but it’s clean and everything works. And the location is great.
