Disneyland is strange!

(I would imagine that a DLR veteran would think that WDW is strange)

It’s for a variety of reasons, one of which is that it would be impossible to add a separate FP / LL queue for the Fantasyland rides, as an example (no room). Also FP at Disneyland evolved as a sort of virtual queue for rides with long lines, whereas at WDW since they gave every guest 3 FPPs in advance, they needed to have more attractions in the pool in order to have enough to give out to everyone, hence why even M&Gs and parades had / have FPP and/or LL.

That makes sense! I thought there were a bunch of queues in DLR where they just don’t have the space to add another. Unlike at WDW, were most of these rides were made with two separate queues in mind.

Your price for G+ also includes PhotoPass for the day and really the LL’s for G+ are a lot easier to grab & stack & go vs. at WDW once you know the priorities. And if you have park hoppers it’s so easy to go back & forth between the parks hopping to LL’s. And the rest of the non LL attractions really do not need it if you have a good rope drop plan.

Just MK where everything is in the wrong place. Oh, and HS is a mish-mash of DCA but also with all the same newest & best headliners from DL also tacked on (GE, MMRR). But I still love them! Not as much as AK and EP or DL and DCA, but they are all great parks!

Or in my case, where I look at DL and I go “why is Pooh in Critter Country? And why is Galaxy’s Edge sitting behind Frontierland? And why is Liberty New Orleans Square on the wrong side of Adventureland?”

This backfired on a trip last year when my DW took the very long way from Rise to Cafe Orleans. :man_facepalming:t2:

Oh my! So instead of popping out at Grand Avenue Critter Country, she popped out at Fantasyland?

Actually I think she went to BTMRR. But yeah it was longer than necessary.

:scream: Oh no! That is a long walk.

Just exactly as a DLR veteran would say when in MK :upside_down_face:

What is Critter Coutry?

Why is Critter Country?

But seriously, it started off as an Indian Village area (when DL was very green in the early years). Then at some point the Country Bear Jamboree was where Winnie the Pooh is now & some of the Indian still figures were relocated to the edges of the Rivers of America with a blurb in the railroad narration as you pass them. I think this is when they maybe started calling it Critter Country.

Then the bears were evicted for Winnie the Pooh (similarly to Toad’s eviction in MK). That Owl is a real estate mongrel, I tell ya. Sometime around that Splash was added (but that might’ve been before the Bears were evicted for the other Bear & his friends).

And now Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take the mountain so really it will honestly just be an extension of New Orleans Square & makes perfect sense, but then it’s just Pooh Corner left of Critter Country really. So what they will call it, of if they feel a change is warranted will be interesting to see.

I believe it was called Bear Country when it was just CBJ, then it became Critter Country when Splash opened, and remained so when CBJ turned to WtP.

Maybe they’ll just call it “Pooh Corner.” Too bad WtP doesn’t take place anywhere near New Orleans. Or Batuu … :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ok, that sounds very much like what I’ve read before. I had a feeling there was another name somewhere in the transition.

I’ll definitely call it Pooh Corner because that’s really all there is! And for all we know the 100 Acre Woods from Christopher Robin’s imagination where all his plushies could talk & play with him very well is between the New Orleans of his imagination and the Battuu of his imagination. I mean just as much as Avengers Campus is between Hollywood Blvd and Route 66.

It reminds me that I have some Wookiee the Chew art in my bedroom. Very cute stuff!

I love and want them all! But especially Chewsticks, I grew up playing Poohsticks every bridge my siblings & I crossed in my childhood.

Oh bother.

Let New Orleans Square (not really a square but bigger fish to fry) absorb WtP and give Christopher Robin a Cajun accent.
