"The Imagineering Story", or How You've All Been Doing Disney World Wrong

" I haven’t done the math, but I think that an off-site, no ADRs, mostly QS 14 days trips would end up being cheaper than 5 days onsite with mostly TS. Of course, time also has a cost."

I hope this will be us. We have plenty of vacation time, but not money. My current estimate not counting gas and souvenirs is around 5K for the three of us for two weeks (three weekends) I don’t know how that compares with most Disney budgets. Half of that time will be tent camping with another family that is bringing their RV, so Disney location but cheap. Some of that will be in a Good Neighbor hotel. Some is TBD.

If you would like to go back farther into Walt’s history, I highly recommend the movie “Walt and El Grupo”

Your analysis of this retrospective look at the history of the Parks reinforces my view of how the transformation of the business models since the late 90’s has tarnished the Disney Experience. Today’s vacations are as much of a struggle as they are a pleasant diversion.
