Found my email confirmation!

I was wondering about the parameters on this too. Mostly around if I have to pay attention the whole time. Like I am thinking sitting in CoP but playing on my phone, or watching a movie or whatever wouldn’t be that bad.
Also, do I have to get back in line every time or is it one ride after another constantly. Because if there is queue time added I think I could handle some of thrill rides, if I had 15-60 minutes in between rides, even if you got to use LL for everything.
My personal favorite for this would be Midway Mania, I could find all of the sneaky ways to win, and it isn’t too rough of a ride.
Ah thank you for the validation! We would have been there in October 2013. It was the literal first day of Magic Bands and FP+ at Port Orleans. I think that there was something secret about the email link in the early days. Like only some people got the email but anyone could book if they had the link? Clearly pre-TikTok days.
That sounds right. It was on the WDW site but there was no way to navigate to the page without the link. I probably got the link here.
Also that trip we stayed offsite, but I booked one night at a FW campsite to get these brand new MagicBand thingies.
Every time I hear @len talk about the Kevin Costner movie Horizon (it has been a couple of episodes), I think to myself…poor Len, did he go to this movie thinking it was an homage to Horizons? What a disappointment that must’ve been.
I’m going with Haunted Mansion, no thought really needed. It’s in the dark, its slow and smooth, and you don’t need to disembark to go around again. The fact that it is one of my favorite MK rides anyway is just an added bonus.
If only it could be a show …I have fallen asleep at Nemo before
Peoplemover would be a good one.
Well, if it can be a show, then Hall of Presidents would be the place to go. I’m sure that would put me to sleep for at least 18 hours.
Maggie always hits her head on the sail!
I could do living with the land but those benches are not comfortable
Does anyone have a link to the Wake Forest student study about rope dropping that Len mentioned?
I don’t know if there is a whole study, but here is the post where Len talks about it on DISboards:
Here’s the question Len posed to students, along with rope drop data:
If you didn’t know whether a ride was going to be running at rope drop, which two attractions would you choose to visit during Early Theme Park Entry in order to save the most time in line?
In the news segment today they talked about a permit for a 240-foot crane to begin construction on what will likely be some iteration of the Reflections Lodge where River Country used to be.
I’m curious what design they end up going with. I really would like something distinct from the Poly tower and not just a clone. Something more woodsy / rustic would be nice.
They can’t win, because they probably don’t want to clone Wilderness Lodge. Regardless, with the proximity to MK, it could probably look like an old Days Inn and people will still buy into it.
What’s interesting, is that a lot of historic hotels built in the woods aren’t woodsy.
Lake Yellowstone closes every spring because of the bear population coming to the lake to eat trout!
And I know this looks to much like the Grand Flo, but the Stanley Hotel, famous for its isolation:
People would really lose the minds.
Good point!
Anything of the examples as an inspiration would be wonderful. It just needs to have character and some sort of cohesive theme. I would love it if they did something bold, like a Latin American theme with subtle nods to Encanto or Coco. Or that Persian theme they had concept art for years ago with Aladdin.
Brother Bear?
That would be fun. Maybe an Alaskan or Canadian theme.
Wow - they really look alike. I bet they are rhe same era.
