The Disney Dish Thread

Listening to the podcast this week (released on Monday, 7/29).

Len and Jim stated there is a possibility that Epic Universe will open with one of the lands unfinished and closed off. I would assume Celestial Park, as the central hub, would be fully open, but which other land (Dark Universe, Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo, Ministry of Magic) does everyone think would most likely not open with the rest of the park?

We discussed this a little in the Epic thread, and I think the consensus is that we aren’t too worried at this point and will wait until there’s actual confirmation before we fret.

That said, I personally think of all the lands, Ministry of Magic has got to be the most complex and perhaps would need more time. But they’ve got to be moving heaven and earth to get that land open on time, so who knows. :man_shrugging:

That really seems atypical for the group of people here :joy::joy::joy:

Yeah…which has me worried…

Right?! I’m sure if it was Disney though everyone would have plenty to say :pirate_flag:

Ok maybe it wasn’t the consensus but it was my takeaway! And unlike Scott, I try to spread actual sunshine.

I just listened to this week’s show. The comments about the WL permits scared me. As a CCV owner I struggle with the amount of points available at that resort because of the cabin. Adding more cabins, and more points, with so few studios and 1 bedrooms that only sleep 4 is terrifying to me . I am hoping the people suggesting these permits are suggesting an expansion of the FW options, or Reflections are right. Even a CCV expansion similar to the Poly building would be great. More cabins? That would be a nightmare.

I also wanted to add something to that Universal AP discussion. To me, another factor with the Universal APs is that if I want to buy that highest level AP (or be other option) I can purchase with a monthly payment plan, with no interest or fees.

How far into the show was that? I started listening but moved on to something else with all the universal talk at the top of the show. I FF several minutes but it seemed to be going on and on so I bailed. But would go back if I knew when the WDW talk started

It was about 16 minutes in. I think it went to the Universal APs after?

Thx I’ll look around that point

I thought they meant they were adding more FW cabins!

Well that would be incredibly stupid

They aren’t selling that which they already have

Sometimes I wonder about the decision-makers…

Well now I will have to go back and listen again!

I mean they also have to know that the CC cabins upset the points balances too? Like I thought that was SOME of the reason for the Poly tower but I honestly never believe that some of the decision makers have ever set a toe on these resorts or tried to book a room ever.

I just listened again and Len did say WL. I believe it is the area behind BRV. I just looked at my photos and I think that is the area near the basketball courts and grills.

It is also the area that my minivan driver cut through to drop us off close to Hoop Dee Doo.

So they are talking about putting more cabins of some sort over there?

Are they stupid???

They must be reading those permits wrong? They have gone back and tried to fix resort availability for owners at GFV and Poly. They would make a challenging situation at CC impossible?

Let’s hope, right??

I feel like this open space could equally add to the CC cabins, middle left, or FW cabins, bottom right.

The only thing I want to know is - are they finally going to reopen the path between FW and WL if they go forward with this??
