The Disney Dish Thread

I used to work as a lifeguard. I heard this (or something similar) way too many times

get out of the water child. It’s starting to rain. You’re going to get wet.

Hey @len next time you are in town I’d love to buy you a drink (or 2) at La Cava and ask you some questions about that Joe Rhode comment on todays show

Yeah that was very much open ended and left a person wondering (but sounding more like he’s not really coming back than that he is)

@len, you sly dog….I see what you did there at the end of the 4/1 Disney Dish. You got me excited for a minute!

@ThorKat I would love that.

@TwoBits They’re really working on it. I think the thing they’re evaluating now is whether a 1/4-mile walk from the back of DHS to the hotel is something guests would be willing to do.

It’s the same distance as from the DHS central hub to the Milk Stand, but the park has bathrooms, CMs, etc., along the way. So they’ll need to to figure out how many CMs they’d need, and what other infrastructure would be necessary. For example, suppose a solo guest’s ECV tips over halfway down that path. Who’s there to notice it, stabilize the situation, and call for help?

I expect TRON and TBA to be ILLs with VQs and no standby.

I think it’s equally likely that 7DMT stay ILL or switch to G+.

The ILL revenue is so easy and so desired by management that it’s hard to say right now where they’ll end up. Though I do think 7DMT will become a Tier 1 G+ when those changes are made (and I don’t know when that’ll be).

So you think Disney IT can handle that? For me at least that’s where my mind goes when I think about having two VQ/ILL$ in the same park. We haven’t seen that yet, have we?

The revenue is so large that I’m sure management will prioritize it, yeah.

Yep!! Just listened today and thought, WHAT!?
I heard rumors about dinner theater or an excursion being thrown around but hearing the podcast it felt like something WILL be happening.

Or perhaps some type of people mover…

But it presents as greedy to have 3 ILLs in 1 park.

I’m wondering if they scrapped it at this point! :woman_facepalming:

It’s still moving forward as a dinner theater experience. It ticks a lot of boxes that the park needs. The last I heard, the focus had switched from “How would it work in the hotel” to questions about how it affects the park. So that’s a good sign.

:scream_cat: this would be amazing and I would put decent money toward having an experience like this.

I would definitely do it!

Just listened to this week’s Dish. I am glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this about TT:

I’d be willing to do just about anything to set foot in the SC again!

A quarter mile walk wouldn’t be bad and I would definitely do that, but they could really do some cool theming of “transport shuttles” if they wanted to get creative and make it an easier trek. Are bantha rides really too much to ask for? :sunglasses:

yeah I don’t see why they couldn’t just use the buses they already had. That would have been cool.

The “transports” were cool and honestly make much more sense. How do you walk to space ?!!

That said, they were small. I sure Disney wants the cheapest option possible.

That would seem the simplest. I don’t know if those shuttles had any star wars theming. But if they wanted to make it special make it look like a giant version of Luke’s speeder or go all out and use Jabba’s shuttle or something. You could make that trip amazingly special and sell toys of the ride vehicle…

If 7DMT stays as $ILL for a total of 3 in the park, will they raise the 2 $ILL limit?
