The Disney Dish Thread

Come to think of it, I can’t remember which way he said it on the podcast. :joy:

I don’t remember either! :joy:

Heard the discussion on the reservation hoarders for Space 220.

How did Disney fix the multiple bookings issue with CRT years ago? Were you not able to cancel and get that $10 deposit back?

Now when you book CRT you have to pay in full at time of reservation.

That whole conversation made me absolutely LIVID! LIVID!

As he said, when they start making you pay money to make a reservation, I don’t want to hear one peep out of people about it.

Is it fair to assume there really are tables left empty currently because of this hoarding?

Yes, absolutely, and they touched on that too. How this takes money out of the pockets of the wait staff when they have open tables.

We have heard so many times recently people talking about how difficult it is to get reservations almost anywhere but how when they arrive to dine the restaurant is not busy at all, and there are lots of open tables.

“We” have collectively assumed that Disney has reduced dining reservation availability due to unstable staffing patterns related to illness that can’t be predicted. But this almost certainly feeds it too - at least at Space220. I’d be curious to lurk on those groups and see what else people are hoarding.

I’m disgusted.

Thanks, just trying to understand it all.

Wow, I haven’t listened yet but I am super curious.

Right now MDE will let you hold any number of overlapping ADRs, which i did not let you do previously. Maybe that is also draining availability?

It will.

But I have run into an issue with a guest who has cancelled their trip. I have to call on the overlapping reservations (they were a party of 6 and it let me make a 4 and a 2 for the same restaurant). I was able to cancel everything except the overlapping and I wonder if that’s because it’s a glitch or something?

As a local who usually decides pretty close to last minute to go to the parks the ADR hoarding frustrates me!

A lot of the time I can find something the day before when people cancel but there are a handful of places that almost never show up. Even if I start looking at 60 days I’m behind most people that can take advantage of the +10.

Now to hear this is also going on is just gross.

Don’t get me started on the leading res factor.
(and I hope I never hear anyone who is in that thread complaining about line jumpers in the park)

It’s in today’s podcast at 13:40.

To quote Jim Hill:

People need to not be selfish here, they need to see the bigger picture, and by doing this, you’re not just helping your pals on facebook, you’re also potentially taking money out the pocket of a very hard working cast member … come on, that’s not fair.

Len suggested Disney may end up charging for reservations to put a stop to this.

Maybe the answer is make every TS a pre fixe meal you pay in full when you make the reservation. Do I like this idea? No would it help? :woman_shrugging:

Not that this fixes the selfishness of ADR hoarders, but can you walk up to Space 220 to sit and eat at the bar a la cart? I’d like to go back, but I never see an opening… and now I know why :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

You can always try for walkups and many people find success with this. It’s not a good plan but if you’re flexible it can work (not just here, but at all WDW dining locations)

Do you think it’s fair that off-siters can’t ever experience the most popular Table Service restaurants? Not fighting, just really curious :slightly_smiling_face:

I know Liners get some through alerts, but not most typical off-site guests.

:notes: They’re off-siters! Off-siters! Barely even human! :notes:

Well…I am just a poor farmer :smirk:

Honestly, if that’s the one benefit that remains for being an on-site guest, I think that’s fair.

Thanks for the compliment :sunglasses:
