The Case For Adult Lounges vs Family Lounges

This week’s episode was all about lounges at WDW!

A couple of polls to get the conversation kicked off. Please note that all restaurants named below are intended to refer to the lounge portion, if separate.

Do you generally prefer Family Lounges (e.g., Oga’s) or Adult Lounges (e.g., Enchanted Rose) at WDW?

  • Family
  • Adult
  • Depends on the Circumstance
  • I don’t care for lounges

I just wanted to vote! No experience with the vast majority.

Me too @motherofdaughtersthree

Pretty much only been to each place I voted for once (or twice) and always with kids.

You can still vote for just one if you want! :joy: I don’t have much experience with lounges, either.

I’m hoping I can get @Dreamer, @katielouhou, and @Enchantedbythemouse to vote since they have the most experience. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Can we first clarify that Geo-82 never allows anyone under 21 to enter? It is exclusively over 21 (as Jellyrolls used to be too). Also, Trader Sam’s is over 21 after 8pm.

Thanks for including Bluezoo! Bluezoo is a lounge I think of as more “adult”. The only time I have ever seen children in the lounge, they have been with their family in a booth.

I cheated and voted for this even though I have never been there. But the prime rib sliders look awesome! :yum:

I’m actually really curious how many of these you have been to … or NOT been to, since that is probably easier to count.

I actually wish I could’ve put them in a ranking order rather than picking three. Three was not enough.

Liners still try to keep that lounge a “secret”. It is referred to as the “lounge that shall not be named”.

Only 3 votes for the resort section is :scream:!

Agreed. Or in a “have been to”, and then “would go to again” type thing. I’m struggling with 3 for the resorts

Can I transfer my 3 from the second resort section up to the first?

Exactly

I had to select this because there wasn’t an “other” that didn’t cast unnecessary aspersions on your polls. :star_struck::heart_eyes:

In your list of Park lounges I apparently haven’t got a favorite lounge

I do have two resort lounges

Way at the top of the list is Crockett’s Tavern. For maybe at least 20 years. Many good memories.

Rest of the list is Geyser Point. Mostly cuz of the water view. Could watch that for hours.

I don’t get over to Disney Springs much

Thanks for more good polls.

They are fantastic!

I need to be able to choose more than 3. I have been to almost all of them. Crew cup did not made the top 3 because they removed my gin and jam. :face_with_steam_from_nose:

Also, I chose based on cocktails. A separate food category would be helpful.

Yes! So many good memories there with family and our friends.

Interesting. So many lounges. I have been to 4 of them.

I haven’t been to any resort lounge.

At DS, we’ve gotten a margarita at Dockside, so I picked that. I wouldn’t really say we “lounged” there though.

At the parks, we’ve done Oga’s, B&B, and Space 220. Space 220 is the clear (and really only) winner for us because it was a nice way to experience Space 220 but paying more like QS prices for a basic meal. Both Oga’s and B&B were one and done, just to see them, but weren’t really enjoyable.

We just aren’t lounge people I guess. I would need a lounge that has more food focus I suppose. I think some of the lounges which are attached to restaurants are more in that light…but we are still working our way through trying the restaurants themselves! Maybe we would be more into lounges if we were more into drinking…but we literally have alcohol a handful of times in a year!
