The BIG WDW trip pre planning parts 1 and 2

We are going to WDW in Jan 2023 (Part 1) and March 2023 (Part 2). Due to DH’s cancer and other factors this is probably the last big trip anywhere that we will be doing together. Because of this I’m thinking of these trips as Part 1 and Part 2. Because of some unfortunate revelations on our recent DL trip where I felt very “off” not nauseous on IC and SM, we will be limiting roller coasters a little bit. However, due to my weight loss and possibly being able to fit (particularly at Universal) finally I may at least try the tester seats. It’s complicated.

I would love to meetup with anyone local or at WDW when we are there during either part of our trip!

Part 1: Universal and WDW - DAK emphasis

We are going in Jan so we can enjoy the parks in cooler temps than our June 2021 trip. Arrive 1/23 at 5:21 pm and depart 2/4 at 2:30 pm.

1/23 to 1/27 at Universal pre plan here

Accommodations: AKL safari view, we will have DAS and add G+ when needed.

Accommodations: 3/23 to 3/30 POFQ, 3/30 to 4/1 GSC, 4/1 CR main building, 4/2 to 4/5 CR garden wing. No hoppers.

Nah, but have you been to Sanaa, yet? Breakfast at Boma and late lunch at Sanaa.

No, haven’t been to Sanaa or Boma yet but we saw Molly’s video of both breakfast and dinner and they both seemed really good. We’ve seen Sanaa too and I don’t know if it’s our thing. I’ll take another look at it though.

I haven’t been to Boma since the before times, but I loved it when I was there.

Sanaa is a favorite, and the food is sooooo good, but the view is amazing!

28th: that dang Nemo show. It’s about a million miles away from the Rhino thing. If there’s a way to move this to another day/time instead of walking eleventy billion miles (or even scootering) just for it I would.

I’d move it (Nemo) to 2/2 as a cleanup day experience.
Interestingly this is why we never get to it. It isn’t near almost anything else and the show times never work out for us.

I would say at the lodge expect that the animals are going to be busiest in the early morning when they’re feeding and in the evenings. Depending on the weather, they might be active in the afternoon, but often will be hiding or resting. Definitely make a point to get out on your balcony for sunrise with the animals and it’s also pretty neat to sit out there after dark and hear what happens then

Fantasmic Dining packages don’t appear to have populated yet so I’ll keep checking to try to get one for SciFi on 1/29.

Thanks! It went pretty well! Fantasmic Dining packages have not opened up for 2023 from what I can tell so I’ll just do a morning check every morning until they do.

Any suggestions on what time would be optimal to try for once the reservations do open up? I don’t want to cut it too close and have to rush to make Fantasmic. Thanks.
