So can my family of 6 go into a table service restaurant that is not a character meal and split meals or just eat off the appetizer and dessert menu?
also, if my family of six is on the dining plan can we make reservations for Sci Fi Diner and 50’s Prime time diner and split three meals at each place. my kids are not big eaters but are over age nine.
also, if we have a group of 12 on the dining plan. one room has 4, one room has 6 , and one room has 2. can the room with 6 use their dining credits and the other two pay cash?

Yes, you can eat at TS restaurants and share entrees or order apps for your meal. I am always in a group of 3 or 4 and we always share.
You can also just tell your server if some of your group is paying cash and some are dining credits.
You used to always be able to use one credit and split it between 2 in the past and then pay cash for additional items. I would be surprised if you still could not do that.

You cannot split meals at buffets or prix fixe menus. You must pay for each person Some places are character meals, but some are not, such as Space 220 Restaurant. The restaurant version is prix fixe, but the Space 220 Lounge is not, it is a la carte, for instance, and you could split meals or just order a dessert.
Sci Fi Diner and 50s Prime Time shouldn’t be a problem for splitting meals unless it’s a Fantasmic! Package. I believe if you’re doing that everyone has to get their own meal in order to get the F! reserved seating.
