I somehow missed this story when it published last summer, it may not have a ton of new info, but is a good run down of the possibilities of using the tech involved in creating the Mandalorian and other streaming series sets.
Would be very cool to walk into one of those 360° sets on an attraction and interact.
I honestly thought that was the plan when they talked about the starcruiser. The fact that it wasn’t used at all is mind boggling.
And I ended up seeing the droids when I was at Disneyland(somewhat). Caused quite the crowd for what they were, and they were wrapping up when I got there.
I didn’t have enough time to grab a photo before they were ducking into the backstage area.
The cast members were really selling the performance, which was cool.
Meanwhile, back in the real world, BJ’s uses a droid to monitor the stock on their shelves. It goes around making this rather annoying beeping sound to let people realize it is there, but it just roams the entire store, monitoring the stock.
