Starlight Safari returning 4/22

There’s not a lot of light off the balconies over the savanna. It’s quite dark

Sounds fantastic.
Just remember to take the lens cap off the optics first.
(Yes. I forgot the first time I used one. :flushed:)

Per the Disney info:
“Set out on after-dark safari adventure using a night vision device.”

Yes. That’s correct.

I’m unclear why you’re providing this information though?

Posts seemed to indicate a concern about ambiant light at resort.

While reading the Disney info I noticed the night vision device (and got kinda excited) and thought this hadn’t been mentioned in the thread.

Tho @GreyingMouser alluded to it. (How many times did I forget camera lens cap :confounded:)

Oh!

I read it as overly concerned that there would be too much light. You want it dark for the night vision.

You’re probably right!

And yes, darker should be better - from what I’ve read.

I liked the after dark regular AK Safari.
This AKL safari sounds way cool.

Do the animals roam the viewing areas of the AKL at night?

Yeah they are allowed to roam as they please. I could hear something off my balcony at night, but couldn’t see anything.

DW and I sent my parents on this in 2018 or 2019. They’ve been going to WDW for 40 years and have done many non-park activities. I think this is their favorite “extra” of all time. Have all the funs.

Good intel! Thanks for sharing!

oh thank you, I did read that. I can’t imagine wearing goggles on top of my glasses  I think I’ll stick to the day light safari at the park

It’s binoculars

Is there any way to set up a reservation finder for something like this, or do those only exist for ADRs?

I don’t know if it exists. But if not I think @len and his team might be able to set it up.
