Apparently if you take the lid off it’s fine.
I brought one home – empty! – from DL earlier this month in my checked luggage (but it might have been before this rule came into place.
Anyone else notice the bit of hypocrisy in Disney with these things? Specifically the lid? The amount of plastic in that lid alone far exceeds what people would find in those plastic straws they are banning.
Further proof that WDW’s straw ban was about saving money - appearing to be concerned about the environment was just a smokescreen. If a ton of plastic makes for a significant price boost in a product, then environment be damned.
Not that I’m against the straw ban - every little bit helps.
