Split Stay - well, one night then moving question UPDATED with new question

I have CSR booked for my August stay and I will have the QSDP.

I’m flying in the evening before and was planning to stay at an airport area Hilton property for the first night, but thought maybe I could do the split stay thing with the first night at an All Stars - mainly to avoid a Lyft/Uber during Monday morning Orlando traffic.

I know I can drop luggage to be transferred to CSR the next morning (drop the next morning - I know it wouldn’t get there until late).

Here’s my question. Could I use my dining plan at whichever All Stars o stay at for breakfast that morning? Or would I have to go to CSR to use it? If I’d have to go to CSR I might as well just stay off property and catch a super early ride.

TIA!

You can use your credits straight away first thing wherever you find yourself

Awesome! Thank you!! I know it’s a smidge more to stay at an All Star for a night than near the airport, but when I thought about Monday morning traffic…

So I could just go to the food court and get my mug and breakfast and use the mug and first QS credit of the trip at whichever All Star, drop my luggage to transfer to CSR, and be on my merry way to my first park of the trip?

I know you didn’t ask but Breakfast is a horrible (value wise) use of a credit. But yes, if your dining is tied to the CSR reservation, you can use your credit that morning.

You may need to be checked in online to CSR for the dining plan to start working but I don’t know that for sure. I can’t remember. @OBNurseNH is also a TA so she would know for sure.

Yes you can do exactly that

Fair. That’s possible for room only But I assume people do the online check in.

If it’s a package they don’t care because you paid for it whether you ever show up or not. No refunds at that point.

I know my body and I do best with breakfast, a meal mid-afternoon, and a snack - especially in the heat of August. Hence why I got the QSDP. Plus having that paid for up front.

Yeah…I’ve done online check-in.

I actually would not go to breakfast until I did my room checkout in the app, and have my online check in for my next resort. At All Stars last month I started getting the “your room is not ready” for CCV at 7:01.

It’s too bad you are just missing the awesome D+ subscriber price for ASS. I suspect you may still have a chance to grab a $99 room in August of attendance remains this soft. Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks. I was thinking I’d check out, drop my luggage at bell services, then go to breakfast in that order. Onlline checkin for CSR is already done.

Ooh! Somehow I missed that one. I’ll for sure keep an eye out!

OK…just adding onto this one (if it doesn’t work I’ll make a new topic).

IF I did one night room only at CSR in the same type of room, I know there are no guarantees, but could I put on my room request that it is a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room? Is that how I’d handle that request - plus checking with them at the front desk?

Thanks!

Yes you can do that

Definitely make sure to check in at the desk to make sure they noted that. They will absolutely do their best to not make you have to move.

Yeah…after the time I got a “please stop by the front desk” message when I was checking into the Poly and had stored my bags before hitting the parks to find out that for some reason my MagicBand hadn’t connected to the reservation I always stop by the front desk anyway to make sure they’re all connected. It will be easy to ask them to check that they are marked as continuing.

Thanks again!

That’s what I’ve always done in these cases. I also stop by the front desk and have them make a note as well. I’ve done this three times now and have always been able to stay in the same room.

We added an additional night at Pop at the last minute, and as a result had to switch rooms. I explained that I didn’t want to switch, so the CM said she would do her best to get us a room close to where we were to make it easier. After it was all said and done I was glad we moved because the new room had a Murphy bed. When we travel together it always feels like we have more space when there are two beds. As others have confirmed - they will work with you.
