Silly question about Liberty Tree Tavern

When your table’s ready, do they still “announce” you by name and home state? Like “The Smith family of the Massachusetts colony”?

Yes they do.

That’s wicked cool. Never knew that!

Thanks!

My husband and I chose a new last name together, so stuff like that is extra fun for us.

I love when couples do this. IMO it feels like a true union

Oh, that is so awesome. It makes so much sense.

Yes! And every time they announce us from CA it’s really funny, because it’s the “wild unexplored territory of California, somewhere way west!”.

Cracks me up. And then I wonder if the colonies even knew about California back in the 1700’s.

I know. Overthinking this.

Love that place. Sad we don’t have enough time to go this trip!!

It almost wants me to say “Hawaii” or “Alaska” to see what they would do with that! (I could always say I am on my way moving there if they say “Oh, it says…”)

In the 1700s it was still part of Mexico, which was still part of the Spanish empire, so California would have been part of New Spain. (sorry- Spanish teacher mode kicked in

Don’t be sorry, I love it! I’m a huge history buff, so this is awesome!

Maybe next time I should tell them I’m from “New Spain”. :joy:

It actually surprised me they said territory of California, because usually disney is so particular about these types of details.

I know. Reading WAY too much into it!

You totally should!
