Rumor: JellyRolls to Close?

I have gone to JellyRolls my last two trips. I have been struggling on if I am willing to change my plans next month for one last trip (it has been my happy place and I will feel a tremendous loss when it leaves the Boardwalk). As of today, I think I will have my December visit as my last time there, but I might change my mind.

Yes, I parked at the BW to go to JellyRolls a couple of weeks ago. Anytime after 6pm.

This is a real loss, IMO. I went to Jellyrolls every chance I got. I’ll miss it.

You’d think as a pianist myself, and the fact that we stay/own at Boardwalk, that I would have been there. I still haven’t been. Just not terribly keen on the bar scene, so hasn’t interested me.

So helpful thank you-

If it’s still open in early May we will make a visit. I’ve always had it on the “someday” list. We have an evening at the Boardwalk planned. I’ll be sad if I miss it. I’ve never been to a dueling piano bar.

You know what is also sad? Despite my best intentions, I’ve never ONCE been able to catch the piano player at Casey’s on Main Street. It is somewhat I’ve always wanted to do. Closest I came was hearing it in the distance…but it was the end of the set, and as we got closer, he was done.

I’d love to spend a day or two just catching the live musicians around the parks, but it is very difficult to plan for that. We DID happen upon a drummer and sitar player at Animal Kingdom as we were finding a restroom, but…it was, again, their last song, and that was it.

Our last few trips I have focused on a few things in each park that we haven’t experienced but wanted to. Then I planned around that. Impressions de France is the one I keep missing! I have seen most of the main street stuff. I have walked past the Caseys piano player but haven’t stopped to listen. Next time I should.

On our July trip we had finally made it to see Yehaa Bob at the River Roost -
It was wonderful. So many trips we are racing around from queue to queue that we seemed to miss out on some really fun stuff.
It’s only since we joined DVC that we have started slowing down to smell the roses.

I have to laugh because we don’t even try very hard and I think we saw the piano player, Grayson in October, at least 4 times on our last trip to MK over two days. He even recognized my DS!

Hopefully we are able to plan a last visit. We have enjoyed it since we started going there in 2022. We even made a special trip there and then drove to Montgomery, AL to visit our daughter.

It’s less of a bar scene than you might think. I mean, yes, it’s in a bar… but the interactions with the pianists make me think more like comic club acts. Almost no drunken funny business that I’ve seen (and I’ve been four times in the past year).

But if that’s not appealing, and if you like piano music, I’d definitely recommend the Captain’s brunch over at the Boathouse! Another good one, and well worth the time.

Seriously that’s like superhero level stuff right there - I have been planning my family’s trips since 1995 and I have yet to go once lol.
