Our park days are May 5th and May 6th. We have previously rope-dropped with great success back in '21, but for this trip, we are off site guests, and there is EE each day for on-site guests. My question specifically is: Will it give us much advantage to try to rope drop FoP at AK on the 6th? Or will there already be a long queue? It shows the crowd levels at a 6. For what it’s worth, we have 2 littles that we will have to use Rider Swap for (my plan was to send my husband ahead to the queue while I checked in with a cast member about getting a Rider Swap “pass”). I just don’t want to show up 30 minutes before opening just to arrive to an hour long wait for the ride anyway
I did a RD at AK as on off-site guest in December on an EE date. I arrived about 30 - 40 minutes before RD.
They let us through the gates after all the EE people went in. We were allowed to wait just outside of Pandora until official park opening.
My actual wait was about 15 - 20 minutes to get to the first preshow.
Hope that helps!
I don’t do FoP so I mosey around while waiting on those who do.
I’ve noticed that the line declines considerably as EE is nearly over. Then swells again as the rest of the riders arrive after regular opening.
As many times as we’ve entered a park early, it’s worth it to be there just in case.
In December 2024 the off property guests were not weeded out until past the tap styles. They were being held at the beginning of the trails.
Definitely. Our last trip as off-site guests was in 2022, the year of revenge travel. We did look at the crowd calendar to prepare for our trip and wound up in parks that were only in the 5-6 range, but there were other parks in the 7-8 range (and we also went to Universal that year, and everyday was 9-10!). Regardless, we went in with a touring plan from the Lines app and optimized after every ride. We would have one long ride in the afternoon for a headliner everyday, but the rest of the lines were very manageable.
