We requested room 8110 at Bay Lake Tower. We arrived around 8:00 pm on 2/25 and our room assignment was on the 4th floor looking right at the pool area. I was disappointed, but we were using our DVC points for the “lake view” category, so I couldn’t really complain. However I decided to nicely inquire about a possible room change to a higher floor with an MK view if at all possible for the next day. We had to change rooms yesterday, but we did get 8110! So it pays to nicely inquire; the room we wanted was just not available on our check-in day, but we’re here now until Friday morning. Kudos to Disney for going spreading some magic our way! Kudos to Touring Plans too because the room assignees already knew our requested room. Awesome view of MK fireworks!
Also, we never received a text with our room assignment, so we had to check in at the front desk anyway on Sunday night. We got a text yesterday , so maybe there was a snafu on Sunday.
