Room Help. BLT or CR?

Disney just released some rooms at BLT with 35% pass holder discount for January. Currently booked at main tower. Have never stayed at BLT. Will we be disappointed if we move next door? How extensive is the current construction?

There are 5 of us traveling. Myself and my four kiddos (8, 10, 12, and 14). Options are either Main Tower Room at CR or 2 Bedroom Villa at BLT.

A two bedroom? That has three bathrooms? I think I would grab the 2 bedroom.

It is super easy to take the connecting bridge from BLT to CR.

Yes.

I had been nervous about space at CR. Size wise the 2 bedroom option always works so wonderfully for us. But looking at the pictures the rooms look kind of blah? And the incredibles rooms are cute. Which is dumb I know but something I like at CR.

Funny, everyone I know says the studios are blah (I agree) but the 2 bedrooms have always been described as “wow”.

Really? That’s great! I’m just going off the pictures Disney has and they seem a little drab. But if I’m wrong that’d be awesome.

I am going to tag @Nicky_S . I believe she is a BLT owner.

I am remembering a podcast report when someone was upgraded to the 2 bedroom and they never wanted to leave but that was a couple of years ago.

The Disney theming is a tad blah and I definitely think the Incredibles theming is really cool so I can see the hard choice. But I have stayed in both a studio and a 1-bedroom at BLT so I can imagine a 2-bedroom and that would be like triple the size of a CR room! They are very fancy and well appointed!

A 2 bedroom vs a single room for 5 people? The 2br will give you so much space, everyone will have their own bed, the 3 bathrooms will make shower time much simpler and quicker, and the washer/dryer will be very handy.

We have stayed in BLT 2br and 1br many times, the latest being this last June. We stayed in main tower once (couples trip when we got bumped from BLT) and the garden wing back in the day (family of 5). I definitely prefer BLT.

One thing you should know—I read yesterday (disboards thread about BLT construction, I think?) that the bridge between BLT and CR will be closed starting some time in January. The walk on ground level between the 2 buildings is not bad at all, though, especially since you’re not dealing with stroller-age kids,

I assume the bridge is closing because the room refurb construction work will be moving down that side of the building in January.

The 2-bed is amazing size wise. It does have 3 bathroomsb.

The pop art work is gorgeous too.

I’m biased though, you couldn’t pay me to stay in one of the Incredibles rooms. Apart from the fact I’m not a fan of the movie, the bathrooms are incredibly stupidly designed (who wants to be able to see someone in the shower whilst brushing their teeth or using the toilet ( and vice versa). Or see life size figures when you open the closet? :face_with_peeking_eye:

There isn’t enough theming in the world to make me happier with a typical hotel room setup over a 2BR

This is absolutely a no brainer for me. Comfort over decor 100% of the time.

Ok ok! I give.

DH was also like “why is this even a decision you have to think about”

I was thinking the single bathroom set up would be annoying. Didn’t even consider that the shower is in there with the sink.

2 bedroom is more expensive even with the AP discount on the room. But I do think the overall value of the BLT room is better than what’d we’d get at CR.

I’d grab the 2 bedroom at BLT.

It wasn’t disruptive when I was there in November (other than 1 set of elevators being out of service) but I don’t know what January will look like from that aspect.
