I’m guessing the thinking is that if they open ROTR to morning EMH guests, it eliminates any and all possibility for off-site guests to have any shot at the ride.
Extra hours were moved to evening. Which made sense if the ride is open, less if ride is shut so EMH makes no difference
I don’t believe they are shutting down the ride for EMH in the evening. It wouldn’t make any difference…folks already have their boarding group.
Although, I can see them not planning for any BGs that extend to the EMH time period in the evening because, again, off-site guests wouldn’t be able to do anything other than wait for ROTR in such a scenario.

EMH were moved to evenings so they wouldn’t interfere with the BG schedule, from what I’ve been told. I’ll be at DHS Saturday and perhaps Tuesday as well if I don’t get to ride RotR. Maybe I’ll see you there!

That doesn’t mean it isn’t open…only that EMH guests cannot expect to be able to hop in line for the ride during EMH, unlike the other rides. Instead, ROTR will still only serve those guests with Boarding Groups…and if the BG time period extends to the EMH, I think the ride will still be running until they get through all BGs (though, not likely BBG). We shall see, though.

I don’t know that they will, I just asked the question, as it is not certain that ROtR will be open beyond letting the last BBG riders that were called during normal park hours through

We were in HS on EMH day, Jan 26. The boarding groups stopped promptly with regular park closure at 8 pm.
On Jan. 26, they made it to BBGs, though…so they would stop at closing. But if they hadn’t made it through all the BGs (not BBGs), they likely would have continued (I’m guessing).
Make sense.
that sucks. why if park is open not do all the bbg try reduce demand going forward. ive no idea of lical vs travelers. but why if park open would you not try make as many people as possible happy
Appreciate all of the tips in this thread. Wife and I got boarding group 7 this morning using many of the tips shared here. We were off Rise by 8:45 this morning for an 8 am park opening.

We used our cell data (ATT) rather than Wi-Fi. Stayed away from the crowds once in the park and were over along Sunset Boulevard. After entering the park, we both logged out and logged back into MDE. Once it was 7:59, we were both on the My Status page for Rise and then once it hit 8, refresh by swiping down on the screen. Hit join boarding group, Add all party members and hit join. Wife actually got the group and beat me to the punch as both of us were trying simultaneously.

Can anyone confirm that the BG’s are still opening at 7 am even though the park opens at 8am? Someone on one of my pages said this happened. If so I totally need to know, because that changes everything!
Nope - according to Steve’s latest chart, the boarding group system started right at park opening at 8am today.
Got BG 71 at 8:00:30 ish
