Return of the Force Family: An Orlando Trip Report

That’s true!

We got four bars and one sandwich to share between us (plus a pretzel). Can you guess who wanted the sandwich?

Dinner was too expensive for what it was, but if I split the cost between dinner and having perfect seats for Fantasmic, it was 100% worth it. One of those wow moments for my in laws and my kids (and me!). I always forget how impactful it is until I watch it.

The only hiccup was that DD4 face planted from the bench and has a goose egg and a raspberry to match DS’s. She went on watching like nothing was wrong, but when she got home the pain caught up to her. Poor girl.

Getting home was not easy — I carried DD6 most of the way to the bus stop and DW carried DD4 through the throngs of people, and it was still somehow hot as hell. But we walked right on a bus as it was leaving and some nice people let DW sit down with DD4 and DMIL with DD6. DS and DD9 were surprisingly resilient and made it the whole way without complaining. :raised_hands:

We decided to take tomorrow easy and we will just have an evening at MK with the rest of the day being resort / pool day, including lunch at Sanaa.

I’m glad you had the photo session before 3 out of 4 of your kids were wearing bandaids on their faces. Can’t any of them just skin a knee or something?

Ha! I hadn’t thought of that silver lining. It seems at least one of my kids always has a bandaid somewhere.

I hope DD4 feels better after a good night of sleep! Glad F! wowed everyone and that it was worth it for the memories. I bet that Fantasmic face plant will be the source of fond memories and hearty laughs the kids have together in the future and in the meantime I hope the pain subsides.

Can you please remind me of how old DS is? The ladies all have their ages noted so as to differentiate between them but DS is the only dude so that information isn’t always shared. But I am nosy

I was starting to lean towards canceling my Fantasmic dinner package. It seemed too expensive for what we would eat. But now I’m questioning again. I was thinking we could just wait for seats. Do you think it’s a very long wait and most of the decent seats taken up by people with dinner package?

  1. Which just doesn’t seem possible considering they are all babies.

I haven’t done the standby in a while but the best seats in the middle, especially toward the front, are definitely all dinner package. But there are decent views from virtually the whole arena. Just depends on who is sitting in front of you.

Which reminds me, to hedge our bets, we asked to have four seats on one row and four directly behind those. We put the kids on the front row. That way if the people in front of the kids were tall, our plan was to have them sit on our laps and put our feet / stuff on their seats once the show started. It worked great. There were kids in front of our kids mostly, except DD6 sat on my lap since she was behind a dad.

He is 11!

We decided to have a late morning today and I am so glad. I slept till 8:45, minus 5 minutes to buy ILLs for Tron and 7DMT tonight.

Now eating breakfast on the balcony while some okapi and birds graze nearby.

DW’s last batch of photos from Tuesday night. Still haven’t gotten the ones from Wed/Thurs

DW takes a TON of flower pictures. She makes a collage almost every day of our trip.
