Reservations on Last Day

I’m planning for our last day to have a 5:30 pm flight departure time for us to walk around some of the other resort areas, visit Disney Springs, eat at a DS table service restaurant, get our baggage back from Coronado Springs bellhop service, and get to the airport (probably Mears Connect Express). We don’t want to be nervous or watching the clock while we enjoy our meal.
What’s the latest reservation time you’d say was safe to not be panicked for time?

I have done this plenty of times. I would look to be leaving DS between 1:30-2 depending on your comfort. I’m an airport dad so I would edge toward 1:30 to be extra safe.

So a 12p reservation time would be ideal for me

You are leaving DS and taking the bus to CSR and then Mears to the airport? Does Mears usually pick up 3 hours before your flight? If they will pick you up at 2, I would be scheduling my meal at 11:30 and I would be at the bus stop for CSR at 1. If you are ride sharing to resort, 1:30.

I suppose mears pickup could be earlier than even I would plan to leave property. Agree with adjusting to 11:30 if using mears and Disney buses

I hate those Disney Spring buses. I swear I always wait an hour. (Maybe it just feels like an hour).

You’re :100: right about that! I definitely would consider ride share to get back to CSR and maybe even for airport transfer

They tell you at least 3 hours before flight but I’ve heard of them scheduling pick up as early as 4.5 hours before! Express should be on the shorter side of this spectrum though.

@ Novac Plan that Mears Express will save just a little bit of time as their aim will be for you to be their last stop. In reality, you may be not be the very last stop. They will most likely give you a pick up time around 3.5 - 3 hours before your flight. Travel to DS, Reservation and travel back to DS could take 2.5 - 3 hours. A reservation time around 6 hours before flight time would be safe IMO.

Absolutely no way from me - and I’m an Airport Dad! I always look to be driving off property 2-2.5 hrs ahead of flight time, depending on day of week and time of day

What transport option do you use?

I either have a rental car or I use Lyft

We used Mears once and I fibbed flight time so we would get picked up 2.5 hours before flight. We had to check bags though.
When we are flying light, we Lyft and leave 2 hours before flight time. If traffic wasn’t so iffy, I would push it even closer.

Noon. MCO Security can get backed up. Do you have TSA Precheck? Best travel investment I ever made!

Yes, and I’m forcing the one person in our group who doesn’t have it to register next week

There will be 4 of us, likely with carry-on bag plus 1 suitcase each for an 8-day trip. So I’m a bit nervous about trying to Lyft/Uber.

We Lyft often. They have the XL with plenty of room for luggage. Think van or large SUV. Mears will want to pick you up super early, as much as 4 hours before your flight. They do have other car services outside of Lyft and Uber (we rarely use Uber).

Here’s a link to a thread here about it. This should be relevant. But you can always ask questions to get the thread bumped up.
But if Mears gives you peace of mind, it’s just a few hours. It won’t be the end of the world. Just plan your morning accordingly.
