I think the 3 hour waits were for the regular line, not the Fast Pass one.

No, FPP lines are up to about 30 minutes. I thought you were asking about standby.
Trust me, this ride is so awesome you will want to RD it AND use a FPP for a second ride later in the day. It is AMAZING

I always consider it an investment, the 60-90 minutes that you spend in line prior to rope drop can save you double or triple that amount in wait time for the rides. By the time the lines are long and the crowds are huge you can have ridden all the best rides and be back at the pool sipping on a cool drink.
