For everyone that thought the cost was ridiculously high… Disney is laughing all the way to the bank. They may decided $429 isn’t a high enough ceiling and shoot for $500 next year!
What makes you think they would wait?
There’s only 6 weeks left of this year, which means only 3 weeks left without prices already published.
Plus I think the initial announcement maybe gave the maximum price for this year…? Not 100% certain on that though. But they did give a range of price which implied a maximum.
Now available to any onsite guest!
Sorry just saw this thread and moving my comment*
I guess sales weren’t high enough. Has anyone seen any analysis on the impact to lightning lanes based on these sales or is it mostly just cannibalizing multipass and single pass so no difference to other guests?
Yep. And i am now switching my march stay with my nephews from a 2 br villa to AoA.
As a travel agent, this sucks because it will just shift more revenue to noncommissionable. As a guest, I’m elated because now PP is in my price point if i switch from the poly to an all star.
Now the question of whether or not it maybe beneficial starts again….
If it’s open to all Disney properties will it hold the same time savings value or will it be filling the lightning lane queues…
Happy about this. I can see some instances when I might want to buy it and at least it’s an option now.
Time for me to be a contrarian but I am not happy if it makes PP more difficult to get during high seasons. We will be traveling with first-timers (kids’ partners) and someone who is chronically ill. LLPP would decrease my stress level immensely while ensuring a good first-perhaps-only trip for 2 lovely humans and making sure our kid with health issues is able to balance fun and rest.
This- exactly. We may be traveling with 1st times with younger-ish childrenduring school break and PP seemed the best option for 1 day only in MK…
Thankfully we have enough time to see how this is going to play out- IMO PP only works if its limited - …so now using space mountain as an example in the LL will be LLMP, LLPP, DAS and mobility impaired.
Not necessarily. Recently there have been some LLPP sell outs for HS and MK. Maybe sales were fine and WDW smells an opportunity to drive up demand for LLPP so WDW can raise prices for LLPP.
Do deluxes sell out more often than moderates and values? If so, that might factor into WDW’s decision here. If this change results in some guests switching from deluxe to mod/value, it would free up additional room at deluxes while increasing occupancy at mods/values.
or potentially drop the LLMP genie plus option in favor LLPP- now that they know people will pay that much I cant see the cheaper option sticking around very long.
This is my fear. But then I think it would piss a lot of people off and would not be a smart decision.
Not from what ive seen. Poly and GF and beach… and caribbean beach, POFQ and values seem to sell out fastest. Most consistently available resorts are CS, AKL, SSR, POR.
Honestly if i have a guest spending 10k on room and tickets, i get lets say 1k of that (for ease). If they are spending 4k on room and tickets and 6k on PP for their whole trip, i get let’s say $400. So disney makes more revenue for the same client spend.
I still can’t make the LLPP price justifiable. As I understand it (and I often understand mistakenly) you’re allowed to access each LL one time. I believe there are 17 LL’s at the MK. Using LLMP, once you figure it out, with a little luck you can usually wind up booking around 8-10 LL’s in a day (maybe more). That’s roughly $45 for half or more of the LL’s. Another $300 - $400 for the other half? Even if we weren’t a family of 6 I still don’t think I could justify it.
Your understanding is correct.
If LLPP is being evaluated on a cost per ride basis, it will never make sense.
Cost doesn’t make sense but is anyone able to do 8 rides with the new system? With G+ that was possible but still a stretch (I averaged 6 but didn’t stay late) but the new system it seems harder to get more than 5. Curious to hear experience.
Good question. I just counted and:
In August, we (myself + two daughters) used an after 5pm conference ticket for a ride-filled evening at MK and managed to get 8 LLs (PotC, BTMR, HM, IASW, SM, Buzz, MILF and WtP) plus 1 MEP (which we used for a BTMR re-ride) between 5pm and 11pm. Some of those LLs I had lined up through “zombie stacking” before entering the park. We also bought LLSP for 7DMT and Tron.
Last month, on a solo trip I used LLMP for an evening at DHS (arriving at 5pm and finishing at 9pm to find seats for Fantasmic). I got 7 LLs (SDD, TSMM, MMRR, ASS, MFSR, BBATB, and Frozen Singalong) and also bought an LLSP for Rise.
The next day I had a full solo day at Epcot, I bought LLMP and got 8 LLs (Remy, FEA, SE, Crush, LwtL, Soarin, FEA, and Pixar Shorts, the latter of which I only used for tap and run so I could quickly grab another Tier 1 ride early in the morning before they sold out for the day). I could have gotten LLs more for rides in the front of the park, but preferred to have a leisurely dinner before Harmonious. Also bought LLSP for GotG (and re-rode with VQ).
So I don’t think it’s hard to get more than 5 if you’re there all day and looking to ride a lot of rides but it may depend on crowds (I think all of the above were CL 6/7 days) - and your ability to get the most coveted rides may depend on being able to unlock tiers quite early in the day before key rides sell out.
Clearly the benefit of LLPP is that you don’t need to worry at all about RD/early arrival or booking order (and you don’t need to criss-cross parks for timed LLs) - but I’d guess that a well-organized Liner with a good touring plan/advanced LLMP strategies who’s willing to arrive at the parks early in the day could get the same amount done with a little bit of legwork.
I’ll add here that having only one person may have aided in the ability to move quickly and snag LLs.
We’re traveling with a group of 9, and are expecting difficulty picking up LLs for that size of a group at a busy time (CL predictions are 9/10) we’re considering LLPP.
