My mom has gotten last minute wheel chair assistance at the airport by alerting the flight attendant.

My mom texted that my dad bought her a present for the trip. She won’t tell me what it is until she gets it. My guess is a Minnie Mouse carry on.

Ears?

No, I really don’t think so. I can’t see her wearing them. She did a little Minnie Mouse hat last time.
It has to be luggage!

The walk from the International Gateway to the Cake Bake Shop is about 0.3 miles. The walk from the Boardwalk entrance, where an Uber would drop off/pick up, is 0.2 miles. Cake Bake Shop to the Friendship Boat launch is 0.1 mile. These are according to Google Earth.

We were there last week and the boat is a very pleasant ride.

It’s so lovely that your family is taking this trip together. I hope you love it.

I was just thinking this last weekend that I do tend to measure Epcot in terms of the walk from the bus drop off to inside the park where the photo pass folk are waiting to take SE in the background shots.

Thank you for the information! I think she will love the boat ride over.

Her birthday gift from my dad just came. She said she loves it! My carry on luggage guess was wrong.

I had a similar experience with my mom on her last trip. We made it from the bus drop off at AK all the way to Lion King at which point she sat on a bench totally spent. My DH was able to go to front of park and miraculously there was a scooter avail. That day we contacted an off site company and were able to get one delivered next day for the remainder of our trip. We had to contact several companies before we found one that had some avail to rent. We were lucky.

I’m glad that you were able to rent one! I’m still looking into things. My issue is my mom has a short memory where Disney is concerned and only remembers the magic. She works and gets around in daily life, so she thinks she will be fine. I think it will be more challenging than she anticipates especially if we get some really hot weather.

It WILL be more challenging.

Her choice is

  1. Scooter and ride more rides
    .
    .
    or
    .
    .
    A. Walk and rest

which means count on two rides per park. Maybe

The fun rides are not close together.

My advice to you would be to get the scooter.
Delivered to your resort. The Values
Resorts involve some walking.

If y’all were there a week I say different. But a short weekend. In the heat. Get the scooter and surprise her.

I’m the most optimistic person around and I’d love to be so in this case. Given the heat and the two days - be conservative. She wants to ride the rides. The scooter will get her there.

The amount of walking surprises everyone.

I’m speaking from personal experience in June 22 and May 24.

I’ve been figuring out my big summer trip and kind of forgot about this one until I saw that it’s time for room request already

I was unable to book a preferred room due to no availability. Any suggestions for room request at All Star Sports? It looks like a lot of rooms are connecting at least in the building I’m looking at now. I don’t know about that for my mom. She sets up traps in her room in case someone breaks in. It’s a whole thing for her :joy:

We had a quick stay there in November. We were in the baseball building all the way at the end. It was a little bit of a hike. I know that is a possibility, but would like to at least try and request closer to buses.

Thanks!

I don’t have any room suggestions, but I’d love to hear about this!
