Today was my dining booking day for my upcoming post-cruise trip, in which we’re staying at the Swan Reserve. 2 adults, no kids.
One of our days is a “rest” day/busy night where we’ll sleep in, have lunch at Sanaa at 11:30, hit the pool at our resort, then go get dinner somewhere and be ready to tap for After Hours at MK entry by 6:45p.
My original plan was to do Ohana for dinner around 5:15, then take the monorail over to MK. But the latest I could get an Ohana res was for 3:55. My back up plan was Beaches and Cream (which I can walk to from Swan Reserve) and I snagged a backup reservation for that at 5:10p.
So - which would you choose?
Less pool/rest time, then uber over to an early Ohana dinner (when we might not even be super hungry, given our Sanaa lunch) followed by needing to kill an hour or so…could try to get into Trader Sams or Tambu Lounge, maybe, or monorail over to Contemporary and try the lounges there before monorail into park.
More pool/rest time, then a regular dinnertime for Beaches and Cream (but a chance we fill up on ice cream right before an event where we get free ice cream…) and then bus to TTC to get to MK.
I’d rather more pool/rest time. Then instead of going to Beaches & Cream, I’d hop over to Ale & Compass’ Lounge and order a Wedge Salad with truffle fries along with a Spicy Pomegranate Margarita. Lunch at Sanaa is going to fill you up! So I’d keep it light for dinner.
Yeah that would work too - though I would caution against Cooks which, while delicious has recently had many reports of very long waits for food. I personally waited 40 mins from order to food and I’ve seen plenty of other recent reports (ahem, since tower opened) that Cooks can’t keep up.
Either way, definitely not two TS in a matter of an afternoon
I think this sounds like a better option, you’re right. And their lounge bites look great. How nervous should I be about being able to get a seat for 2 in that lounge around 5pm on a Monday?
Their lounge is pretty big. I don’t think you’d have trouble then for 2 people. Lounge is nice too because it doesn’t require a ressie - so get there when you get there!
