I don’t know why they haven’t already done this. You already have to add a credit card to your MDE account to make ADRs, which they’ll charge the no-show penalty to if it applies. It seems like they’re giving up a lot of marketing data that they could easily collect with technology already in place.

It’s always been considered a “perk” of stating on site.
That’s how it has been sold to guests. But the biggest perks are entirely Disney’s.
I was looking at the Disney resorts on trip advisor today and they all said “this property is temporarily closed until 7/30/2020”. Do you think they are just guessing based on current information?
Trip advisor has had this notice for a few weeks and consensus seems to be that is just them saying that. I imagine they have decided internally that they don’t want to take on any reservations that they consider unlikely to be fulfilled, but they probably don’t have any inside information. (Disney probably doesn’t even know when they will reopen yet.)
