POLL: Your Preferred Layout To Show Lightning Lane Return Times

The site will soon be able show the current Lightning Lane return time for Walt Disney World attractions. I’m interested in knowning how best to display that data.

In both tables below, each cell holds the current LL return time for that attraction as of the time shown in the table header. So, for example, if you obtained a Big Thunder Mountain RR Lightning Lane right now for September 12, 2024, the return time would be 23:15 (11:15 pm).

The return times shown in the table are not real. Don’t focus on that.

:warning: Assume that you can sort each column in ascending / descending order. :warning:

There are two straightforward options.

Option #1 shows Attractions left-to-right and the Next 21 days top-to-bottom.

Option #2 shows Next 21 days left-to-right and Attractions top-to-bottom.

Focusing just on those two layout options, which one do you prefer?

  • (Option #1) Attractions are shown left-to-right & Dates are shown top-to-bottom
  • (Option #2) Dates are shown left-to-right & Attractions are shown top-to-bottom

I’ll have follow-up questions on how best to display the actual return time, including things like colors, symbols, etc.

Thank you!

I picked 2, but it almost seems a little silly because I’m always going to sort column 1 from soonest to latest

I suppose if I’m sitting at home picking LL for next week though, it might be more useful because I could sort by those days instead

I prefer option 2. So I can sort by time (ascending). If looking at multiple days a color code along those lines could be helpful

Thank you all for this!

Option #2 was preferred by 96% of you.

This was NOT your question…but honestly not sure I would like using such a table. I would prefer selecting a single day and showing me a list of attractions with return times for that day only, with the ability to then arrow through to next/previous days. A table format is data overload.

Perhaps you already plan to have that, and the table is just for power users if they want it. (I guess I am not a power user then!)

I’ll ask that question shortly. Thank you!
