I have Ale & Compass lunch reservations and intend to park at Yacht Club and then head to Epcot for the afternoon/evening via International Gateway. PlanDisney says that parking w dining reservations is limited to 3 hours and you risk “getting towed.” Does anyone know if this is true? Do they enforce this? Do they have my license #? If true, where would be the best place to park to be go unnoticed?
Last I checked (Feb 2024), not true. We did this no problem and the food at A&C was delicious!
I don’t think this is true because they just check you in at the gate and it’s a yes (admitted) or no (not admitted) situation. That said, if you stay overnight they probably do check license plates for hotel guests, so that is probably the true limit.
Also they could probably reserve the right to tow anyone if the lot somehow got full and there was no room for non-hotel guests.
Just a report back that having a dining reservation was fine for parking and entering Epcot through International Gate. Car was still there when we returned.
Good to hear!
We ate at Cake Bake Shop earlier this month and then went to Epcot for the day. Parked at BW and they handed me a piece of paper indicating I was not a resort guest but a dining reservation guest. Printed on it was a statement saying my parking time was limited to 3 hours. I was instructed to place it on the dash when we parked. I didn’t. Car was fine when we got back 10 hours later.
Will you get towed? Unlikely.
Is it possible? Yes.
But more than that, it could mean someone staying there can’t park when they return.
I imagine at BC they send you to YC and vice versa. At BW they send you across the road.
At Bay Lake we had to give the CM the keys and they drove it to the CM parking lot along the road. And the next morning we got a message on our villa phone to go to the front desk for someone to collect it for us.
It’s annoying as heck.
This seems to come up from time to time at all kinds of resorts. And the reality is the same as what you’ve described - they only know you’re not a resort guest if you comply with the request of putting that slip of paper on your dash - and nobody does it. But maybe it makes them feel like they are doing something
This is a fact at some resorts during the busiest seasons, for sure
