Estimates on how long it takes to get from POFQ to DS by boat? Travel day I plan to hang out at the resort, then I have a Cirque du Soleil ticket for the later show. I’m planning to grab dinner at a QS either at the resort or DS.
About 20-25 mins IIRC
Yeah. That’s about right.
Enjoy! I really liked the show even more than I had expected.
Thanks. We’re huge Cirque fans and have seen most of their shows so I expect it to be good.
Oh good! I was literally coming here to ask if people have seen it as I am considering getting tickets for my team offsite
Took me awhile to rememeber where I read this:
- The journey time between Riverside and French Quarter is about five minutes and the onward trip from French Quarter to Disney Springs takes another 15 minutes.*
All boats dock at the new landing
From what source is this graphic? It’s awesome!
Arthur De Wolf created 2 maps of Disney World and you can find them at https://www.wdwfocus.com/
Your can purchase a high def copy of the map from them.
The last update to the transportation map was in 2019 and does not reflect any changes Disney has implemented since then.
I also have just seem some discrepancies in several articles about where the boat docks at Disney Springs, so potentially you may need to add some foot travel time to get to your final location. Worst case would be from Market Place to Cirque.
There used to be two sets of boat docks. Now there is just one, which is by the far end of Disney. The other used to be near where the House of Blues is, more or less. (Technically the dock is still there, they just don’t run the ferries there any longer.)
I’ve seen these maps before but I didn’t remember them nor where I saw them.
I was thinking to allow an hour for travel, so hopefully that will account for any issues.
Thanks.
This is the official recommendation of WDW whenever a guest is moving between locations. It’s typically a bit of overkill, but I think most of us would rather arrive early than to be stressing out maybe running late
Actually they may even recommend 90 minutes!
We had an unusual experience a year ago, May 2023.
For fun, my wife and I decided to show the family where we stayed for our honeymoon, so we took the boat from Disney Springs to POR. That part was fine.
Later, after we were done and decided to head back, we went to take the boat back. Only the boat was closed. Even though the weather was fine there, apparently there was lightning in the area, so the shut down. This sent everyone to the buses.
Trouble is, because everyone from POFQ was picked up first (and perhaps the other POR stops?), every bus that arrived at POR was completely full. So while there were at this point 100+ people waiting for a bus, barely anyone (and sometimes not a single person) could fit on each bus that came.
It took us almost 2 hours to get back to DS, because only a handful of people could get on each bus, and so it was trickle. It wasn’t until almost 90 minutes before Disney decided to send completely empty buses DIRECTLY to POR to start addressing the problem. The whole scenario was ridiculous, and people were getting really really angry.
Highly unusual case…but definitely would have caused headaches for anyone who only planned for an hour or less to arrive for an ADR somewhere.
Dude. Rideshare, man.
For 8 people?
Besides, each bus kept telling us that they would send another bus soon, so no one knew it would have been so long.
Yes, they have more than one car
Minnie Van in this case would probably even be more economical (6 pass) + 1 regular lyft
