Oh. So, even though my trip was more than 30 days out (it is August), since I already had a room request in place, it should have been taken care of?
That’ll save me from having to call!

Did you get an email saying it was submitted? Or does it say it on your dashboard? I think I remember someone saying it it was posted and they were surprised it was so early.
Our request was sent in the last batch and I’m happy to report that we got our exact room request for GFV. We requested room 1515 in the villa building and it was probably our best ever view! These were some of the pictures we got from the balcony.
Not that I can see…
Not that I can find.
But I 100% know I had the room request in place before the change, so I guess this means it was NOT sent.
I guess I will call just to be sure.
I would, but that’s just me.
I have an upcoming trip to Disney in July. We are a large family with 3 hotel rooms booked. I didn’t submit a TP room finder request in time before it stopped. Please can you tell me what the best way to request certain rooms/rooms together would be? Do I call and speak to someone? Can’t see anywhere linked to my booking on MDE to submit room requests. Any help would be gratefully received!
You have to call. The options in MDE for Room Requests are limited to very specific types of requests, depending on the resort, without the ability to enter anything free-form. So calling is the only option.
Very helpful thanks. How far in advance is best to ring them would you say? Also do I ring the hotel direct or is there a generic number for all hotels? Thanks
It goes into the notes of the reservation when you make the request, so as soon as you know what you want, go ahead and call.
Just call Disney’s normal phone number, not the specific hotel. If DVC, you can call DVC member services.
Brilliant thank you!
You can call DVC MS if you own DVC, but not as a renter, right?
Oh, correct, yes. Good callout. You have to be the owner to call DVC MS. If you are renting, any room requests will have to go through the actual owner.
Bam! You da man! (Errr, uh…wo-man!) It shows up as being sent on that page.
Thanks.
Yay! Glad I could help
Or since you link a rented reservation in your MDE account, you can make the request on your reservation through MDE chat.
The first part of my solo trip is complete. My request was sent early in the batch:
Resort: Riviera Tower Studio
Method: Touring Plans email
Room Requested: 8619
Request sent:
Room given: 8723
This room was not on my list of rooms but I had added the language regarding the walk in shower after a recent bad fall in a Universal shower. Room 8723’s shower:
This was a big win for me.
I was on the phone with WDW today modifying a reservation and had a conversation that made me cautiously optimistic about making room requests over the phone in the future. I was changing my reservation from the Ft. Wilderness Cabins to the Treehouse Villas. I was also changing dates.
Without any prompting from me, the CM said that at the Treehouses she liked to request a river view or a villa close to the pool. I hemmed and hawed and finally decided on river view. She could tell that I was having trouble deciding and said that villas 7020 - 7030 were on the river but not too far from the pool. I asked her to put in a request for one of those villas. (Looking at the TP room finder, I am not sure that all of those villas would have a river view, but they all do seem to be close to the river and not too far from the pool.)
I was pleasantly surprised that the CM would proactively encourage me to make a room request over the phone. I was even more surprised that she would recommend a request that got into details like individual villa numbers.
It’s not as good as the old TP system, but it’s better than MDE.
Resort. GFV
Room: Resort Studio
Method: Touring Plans request
Result: 9315
I have stayed in 100s of connecting rooms in wdw, but I have never had a room where it sounded like the people in the next room, were in my room. Unfortunately, there was also a guest (either above or connecting) that was using exercise equipment at 11:30pm.
The comment left on the room finder regarding 9313 theorized that the added housekeeping closet between the rooms adds to the noise.
Maybe that is the issue.
This was the worse room I have ever stayed in at Disney. I have stayed multiple times at both GF and GFVs (both buildings) and I have never had this issue before. If you get one of these rooms (the touring plans maps do not show the closets) I would request a new room.
So sorry for your room experience. That is a real bummer!
