It’s good that WDW released the closing date. I know that was a concern that Len brought up on Disney Dish this week!

Oh, I think it will be a cool attraction. I just wish TSI wasn’t the necessary sacrifice to make it happen.

Ok just starting to read, but I really REALLY like how they are going to work this in to what exists in a way that actually really does make sense. I wondered about that, but a national park? PERFECT!

I actually am too! Not the construction phase because that’s going to suck. But I am looking forward to the end result, and am especially thrilled with the idea of it being a National Park!
For all the people who are sad about TSI and Liberty Belle closing, how many have visited these attractions regularly in the last bunch of years?
I’m not saying the sadness isn’t valid, but if even the biggest fans aren’t taking advantage of all this SPACE, it may as well be put to use with updates that will be relevant for the newer guests.
Walt never meant for it to be a museum after all

Not so much the Liberty Belle but TSI is a regular hang out for us. (It’s one of the quietest spots in any park)

Exactly! Even for as sad as I am about Muppetvision, I hadn’t watched it in over a year when they announced it was leaving. Park capacity doesn’t count if no one is doing the things that have capacity!

Thanks for saying it! I’ve been asking for this change for years. I think the area is beautiful, but could be utilized “better” - like this new land.

I can see that for you. And I’m sad for you that it’s going away. I hope there’s a suitable replacement for it, either in the new land or in another area of the park.

Do we know what the ride is? Is is a kids ride?
There have been hints. The main attraction is a kind of off-roading Radiator Springs type ride. But the artwork indicates there will also be a “kids ride” as well.

The “National Park” name is throwing me off. Is that not a National Park Service trademark? Or did our gov overlords sell that out too?

I am relieved by these new pictures —looks and sounds beautiful. I was worried about losing the beauty in that part of the park.

Wow I knew the changes were coming but this makes it real. Finally my timing is right, our trip 6/26-7/5 is too late to say goodbye to the Muppets and to early for nighttime parade and test track 3.0 but we’ll get to see Tom Sawyer island and the riverboat for last visits. I was just thinking how I’ve only been to TSI on our first trip in 2018 and never since lol.
As for Cars land, I like the National parks look and vibe and hope it all comes together as something awesome! Having a geyser named Old Tankfull is great and could draw a crowd if done right.

I’m in this small camp with you! I haven’t ever done TSI or the Liberty River Belle in MK and initially I was worried about the fun/exploring and space to unwind that it is (we do it often in DLR on our first day when we just need a place to chill but also for the kids to do something).
But once I saw they were putting a Cars universe and the initial concept art, I wasn’t worried at all. I’ve seen their (excellent) theming of both the Cars universe and Grizzly Peak in DCA and to me it seemed this would be a combination of those already two well-done things, hopefully being a home run! And I love how much water feature I am still seeing in this latest (animated) concept art.
