Liner meet!
You can see it from Tomorrowland as you walk past the purple wall and look over the rocks opposite the p.wall. Someone shared a pic from the 80s w/ the topiary serpent recently and then I noticed this one the other day while on the ppm and had to take a shot. the serpent overlooks the lake across from Tomorrowland Terrace.
Yes! I remember seeing it on an old photo this week, and I thought that would be amazing to see. And it’s there!! On the list
the old photo didn’t have pretty flowers around it. This made me happy
I wish I could find the old photo of the topiary serpent. I’ve tried searching several ways. You don’t happen to remember where it was, do you?
nope, I thought I knew where to find it but no luck
I thought it was here but it’s not: Historical photo challenge: Disney World circa 1984?
It was someone wanting to recreate pictures from a past trip.
oh yeah… I’ll never find that again
Found it!
Yes!! I would never have found that again!!
I did a search for the word serpent.
Anyone remember this one? I actually don’t, and they are my photos from around 2011. I’m glad we rode it, and it looks like something I would have liked to repeat. Makes me sad that I can’t remember more and that it no longer exists. I think the Princess Meet & Greets are in this location now. I also read somewhere that parts of the ride still exist in SDMT.
I remember that ride. I miss 20,000 leagues under the sea too.
Here are a few of the rides I miss. If you had wings is now Buzz Lightyear. I actually don’t miss the 20,000 Leagues ride, it was super hard to get in and out, hot and close. The last pic is on the sky ride in MK, you could travel from Tomorrow Land to Fantasy Land. These pics are from early’80s.
Sky line was Great! I agree 20,000 was hot and cramped but still cool
Is this you in the early 80s?
I would have been there once when the sky ride was there (it closed in 1994 if what I just read was correct), but I cannot remember it. I have a hard time imagining how it looked running across there, but it’s an interesting part of the history.
I remember reading on this forum that teenagers used to spit off of it.
Yes they did. I was a victim and complained to GS about it. It was sooooo gross
That’s teenage me!
Edited to add, I never spit off the ride lol
Well, glad you didn’t spit! Haha. Love the photo. Nice, carefree 80s
What’s the boat thing there? Just a neat display? I’ve never seen anything like it.
That’s 20,000 Leagues. You actually went down a ladder into the sub/boat and cruised around looking at scenes underwater, although only the bottom of the sub was submerged
