My kids grew up listening to “never smile at a crocodile” as a bedtime song, but I was hesitant for them to watch the movie. Good news, they’ve got enough of the jist of the characters to get the main story and love the main songs. They also love the ride (“flying ride”) and I’m really happy with this change. It’s a step in the right direction.
The real question is, did they (will they ever?) update the voice of Capt Hook to someone that sounds at least remotely like Hans Conried?
The entire ride ends with disappointment every time I hear that whiny, vanilla, 20-something-year-old voice coming out of Capt. Hook. “Help me, Mr. Smee, Help me…”
Why have they done this? It sounds like maybe it was an afterthought or something? Like they decided to have him say something at the end last-minute, and just had the only guy available, a worker who was installing him, say something in a microphone real quick.
I could do a better impression of the original Capt. Hook!
I love the updated scene!
It’s nice. 90% of the people who ride it will never notice the difference. Quite frankly, if I hadn’t seen all of the social media stuff I probably would not have noticed.
