I’m considering going to Jollywood Nights and/or Mickey’s X-mas party, VS buying a 2 day ticket and going to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom and adding on a Lightning Lane Multipass(but not the single pass for tron or Rise). This would be the weekend before Thanksgiving.
In my eyes the cost of these two options is close enough to consider it a wash. I’m going with my wife and 10 and 12 year old kids who are able to stay up till midnight at least. We also don’t care much about the shows, meet and greets or parades and are mostly there for the rides. We have also been to the parks 2 times before so we wouldn’t need to ride all of the rides, just the ones we want.
Do you think going to the parties are a better option for waiting less overall for the rides or do you think doing a rope-drop morning with lightning lane’s is a better option for waiting less time? We are also staying off-site so if we rope-drop it would be 30min later than the onsite guests, and we’d probably leave around dinner time.

I’ve done both the MNSS and MVMCP at MK. In my experience with both, they may not be the best option for riding a bunch of rides, depending on which rides you’re interested in. The issue comes w/ the overlays. The Christmas party, especially, struggled with this. Basically, everything with an overlay had wildly long lines. Things without overlays were short, but think 60+ for Speedway, for example. So, check the party promo stuff to see which rides are getting the Christmas treatment this year. That may affect how you plan. In general, I the Christmas party to be far more hectic than a typical day at MK. If you’re truly just after the rides, another strategy could be to go to MK on a day when there is a party, but don’t go to the party. I’ve gone a few times like that and ridden every ride in the park without lightning lanes. The crowds are so low since the park closes to regular ticket holders at 6. People without the option to park hop, tend to steer clear. If you don’t care about missing fireworks, that could be a good option to consider also.

Thanks! we actually went on a party day one morning last trip and it worked out pretty good. I’m leaning towards doing the Jollywood Party for HS since it has far fewer rides and overlays, and a morning/day at MK

This is a good option.
I have done the parties just for the rides and it is ok but expensive for what it’s worth. You’re really paying for the entertainment. But Jollywood is a good compromise cause you can pretty easily hit all ~9 rides in one night.
After Hours is better but it’s not available during the holiday timeframe.
