Hi! I am making custom touring plans for my family’s trip in August/September and want to include a day with DVC Moonlight Magic and a day with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I realize that the optimize/evaluate features may not work well with these special events, but can I override the park hours somehow so that the times are possible in the plan for these dates?
To my knowledge that isn’t possible. It will tell you you can’t do anything that would occur after park close
Correct. The planning tool (Optimize or Evaluate) doesn’t have sufficient background data to predict wait times outside of normal park hours and will not attempt to provide a solution.
I’m fuzzy on what you would like to accomplish knowing that the wait times could be wildly incorrect. Can you expand on this?

If I ignored the wait time aspect and just had an ordering of attractions to get the map, printed itinerary, etc. Or ideally, I would be able to use Optimize to at least minimize walking time even if it couldn’t take into account wait times at all (I realize this is a stretch). It’s not a big deal, just wondering since all of the other days will have the touring plans, it would be nice for these event days to as well.
For the MNSSHP day, the planning tool will fully function during the overlap hours of 4:00 PM through 7:00 PM including a last ride if the arrival time is before 7:00 PM.
You can get some of what you want if you create an addendum plan but ignore the meridiem (using AM instead of PM). Set the date for 1/7/2026, enable early entry and extended hours and you can cover 7:30 thru the end of MNSSHP. Configure the plan through the finalize point and you will have an order list as well as a map. You could Evaluate or Optimize with the assumption that the predicted wait times for 1/7/2026 will approximate what becomes reality during the party.
Not ideal by any means but you do get some value from this approach.

That probably doesn’t work for the DVC thing tho but one problem solved! Another thing I tend to do is create the part of my plan that would be in the overlap time (like the 3-6pm time). Have it optimize that then just add things at the end without hitting optimize or evaluate to kind of keep an order for what I want to do or a checklist. I do this when they don’t have the plans quite out yet like Jollywood Nights aren’t an option for DHS.

Thank you! I totally missed that radio button. I will update my plans for MNSSHP at least! For Moonlight Magic I think we will just try to hit all of the rides we can while we are there and not worry about the optimization too much.
