At the Epic entrance for rope drop! My family could see people being let into the Epic entrance and got too excited to wait any longer (ignoring my explanation that our Berk rope drop would not require us to go down before 8.40). So this is/was our position arriving at Helios security at 8.30. There was no line at security anymore and only a short line for tickets.
We were let go at the rope at 8.50, Helios crowd beat the main entrance to WWoHP (which is where most people were going after they announced a delayed opening for Mine Kart). The main gate beat us to Berk, but we are speed walkers with a plan, so we are currently the second family in line for the Toothless M&G!
There are around 6 families/parties here total at 9am in case that’s useful for others to know. So not a huge crowd for rope drop.

I want to do this next time we go. It’s one of the only M&Gs that actually looks interesting to me. But we didn’t prioritize it over rides this past trip.

It’s very cute. And Hiccup was exceptionally in character - we had a long chat, they really take their time with each guest.
We also don’t usually have the patience to queue for characters but I really wanted to do this one. My family thought I was crazy and my husband asked me three times whether I was sure that it made more sense to do the M&G before riding Hiccups (he apologized when he saw it was still a walk on 20 min later, after we’d met Toothless and ridden Dragon Racers Ralley).
It’s probably not for everyone. But since we had Express Pass, I didn’t think we’d need it for anything else - especially after we had already managed to ride Hiccups, BatM and Monsters (my must dos) the night before.

Last morning in Universal.
We rope dropped BatM and then headed to Berk which was positively deserted (maybe people stayed out late last night). Hiccups was a walk on till 10.
We second rope dropped Dark Universe, which was also very quiet and were the first guests on Werewolf! The kids went twice (once was enough for me).

It’s beautiful, but so hot already!
We don’t have any must dos left, so just taking advantage of some short wait times before we head to the pool and hang out there until we need to go to the airport.
Hiccups (my kids’ new favorite) is still a walk on at 10.45, though Nintendo World had another rough start with both rides doing down at some point (and immediately jumping to 60+ min wait times when open).

Wow, just checking actual crowd levels for yesterday and seems it was another slow 4th July.
Volcano Bay felt crowded after 11 or so, but Epic was quiet in the evening and even the fireworks crowd was thin (surely in part due to a big afternoon storm). Fireworks were not impressive…
We were happy that BatM was a walk on for the last two hours of park time!

I am convinced that DD was picked while we were in line. I’d primed daughter to speak distinctly and project while we were ‘chatting’ in line. I’d heard that they wanted kids that didn’t mumble, because mumblers make a bad show. There was someone in line in front of us that eyed us closely, and then wasn’t in the audience. I asked DD what she hoped the core in the wand that picked her would be made of, and then we discussed the pros of various options.
