Only me and the Chef

I’m in the midst of planning my first solo trip to the World. Right now, I’m planning on maximizing my time in the parks, but would it be weird of me to head over to Chef Mickey’s to hang out with the gang by myself?

I’ve only ever been in a big group, or toting along a small child or two.

Not weird at all. It seems like there are lots of solo travellers and they want to meet characters too. I know @profmatt did at least one character meal on his last trip and enjoyed it. Go for it!

Indeed he did, on all counts.

Solo travelling is the best. And I had a few character meals, which I really enjoyed.

It’s your trip to plan as you wish! Go for it…whatever IT may be!

I’m heading to the World on friday as a solo, and I tossed in a Chef Mickey ADR for 7:05 before meeting up with friends at 9 for MK fun! I am excited! I know the reviews are sometimes “Meh” but I am excited to try it!!

I don’t do character meals or encounters (except for one time), but it has never struck me as unusual when I’ve observed adults doing so without a child escort. And when I stood in line to meet Chewbacca I didn’t care what anybody else thought about it. It’s not my fault I didn’t get a chance to meet him until I was in my 40’s.

It’s WDW. It would be weirder if you didn’t want to meet at least one character.

Not at all weird! I did a character meal on my solo trip a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. I’m also planning to eat at Chef Mickey’s on my solo trip next year.
The best part of a solo trip is having the freedom to decide what YOU want to do. Enjoy!

Not weird at all - if meeting characters is your thing.

I no longer think of it as traveling solo. You are traveling a la @profmatt!
