Very useful thank you
We’ve done Oga’s more times than we probably should have. Early on, the experience was better. It’s definitely worth seeing and experiencing once. If you have little ones, you can ask for a table, you just may have to wait a little longer. But, they are cramming people in like nobody’s business now. The oblong table sat our party of 7 perfectly comfortably back in 2021 during Covid when they were not so aggressive about cramming people in. Last time we went, the 3 of us were wedged onto the end of a table with 2 other parties, probably 11-12 people altogether. So if you don’t mind not only sharing a table but also being squished up against a stranger, it’s all good. Our other big letdown is that they no longer have dry ice, so the carbon freeze bubbling drink that was so cool for the kids is no longer.
For even moderate SW fans, you have to do it at least once. It can be a pretty bad experience beyond the first 10 minutes or so, but it’s worth the time. I have been a few times, first was new and exciting, second time was meh - third time i had to be talked into going, but it was the best experience. A bunch of storm troopers came in insulting everyone looking for the rebel spy, and it was hilarious immersive stuff. Side note: I had a “No Touchy” T-shirt on, and the Empire captain singled me out and asked me to walk over there. He pointed to my shirt and completely still in character leaned in and said - “I tell that to my stormtroopers every night before they go to bed…sometimes they listen…sometimes.” HA, that was a year ago and I’m still laughing about it.
I took my kids of similar ages and they enjoyed it well enough, but I wouldn’t ever do it again with kids. They don’t guarantee seating, even for children, and the bar is too tall for them to reach. It’s ridiculous. You could tell them you will wait for a booth, but that could eat up a bunch of valuable time.
My opinion: save it for a time when it’s just adults. Even though kids are admitted, it’s not designed for them.
ROFL!!!
That sounds like a certain Lt. Agnon, I know!
A couple of things they’re doing in DL that I wish they would adopt at Oga’s in HS. 1) Reservations are prioritized for seating. Walk-ups are standing. 2) They have introduced some amazing and delicious snacks!
I love Oga’s, but it can be hit or miss. I’ve had great times there, and other times it’s just meh. I would definitely go if you are a Star Wars fan, though.
We are not huge SW fans but I loved it! So much fun. Once we were at the bar and once we shared a table. It is definitely worth going IMO
Oga’s was just “ok” for me. I’m a big SW fan, but Oga’s felt mostly just like a heavily themed bar to me and that’s it. Visually it’s very cool and that was my favorite part, but it wasn’t much of an experience. You’re at a bar, with a lot of kids, in a theme park, so it kind of doesn’t fell like a bar… Any way, my kids felt pretty indifferent about it, maybe if we had a seat after a long day it would’ve been more enjoyable, but standing in a cramped corner with people on both sides, nothing to write home about.
@jflafond_869328 My family’s experiences line up with the feedback you have already gotten. We have only done it once. My wife and I have tried a couple of other times, but the hassle of waiting for a table caused us to cancel a couple of times. I don’t care how cool the room looks, I am not paying disney prices for fancy drinks if I can’t sit down and take a little break :). Cast members don’t always respond well when you ask to wait for seating. But really if you are a Star Wars fan, its worth doing once.
We were just there last week - just 2 adults though. If you’re a fan I thought it was fantastic. I saw the original 6X in movie theaters - which tells you how old we are! I had a reservation and still we were asked if standing was OK. With small kids I would opt to wait for a table. Standing with strangers was great for us gives you more of that bar feel. There’s only 2 food items (we got the fancy chex mix whatever they call it - it was good but a bit spicy). As has been noted, the drinks are quite light on the alcohol. I guess they don’t want any bar fights? Don’t want to get too realistic! But it was still amazing to me like being in the movie.
Definitely go if you are a a Star Wars fan! If you don’t want to stay, they won’t make you! Just check in, take a look at the crowd level and the menu. If you don’t want to stay, walk around and then head out.
