We were just in SoCal last week and spent two days at Huntington Beach - one at the City beach and the other at the State Park. My daughter loves to boogie board and the State Beach there had perfect waves for her. The City beach the waves were a little too rough but that may have been the tides that day. The pier is on the City beach if that’s something you want to do.
