I agree that they probably have latitude for a ride because it says to “enter” the park and we are all on property. Unfortunately he takes after my family and is about 5th percentile height and weight so he looks like a 10 year old. 
If he looks young then I would definitely try for the rider switch. The worst they can do is say no.
