I spend that time researching and re-researching all the restaurants I want to eat at, even if they don’t require reservations. I constantly feel like I need to be doing something!

Also, at four days you are at the point where it an annual pass might be about the same price. Instead of getting the express passes it might be cheaper/nicer to get the passes and add a day or two. Particularly since the hotel will be cheap. That is what we did. 2-3 days tacked onto a Disney trip turned into a week at just Universal. We got the second most expensive passes, which got us early entry and free parking. What we did was to do HP during early entry. Left around 10 when it was too crowded, explored half of a park, then came back to HP to finish the day. A couple of days we left mid-afternoon to rest.
