I have fined tuned it for Pop Century, so mainly asking about differences for a DVC place (and why posting here). Ziplock bags are a necessity for sure, hadn’t thought about Saran wrap though. Will ask DW about that. OK on the kettle too. I’ll have one anyway as really really dislike my tea tasting like coffee!
@PrincipalTinker : OK on towels. Sorta related story: A while back my DW was shopping for something and complaining that she wasn’t liking anything cheap. I looked at her a bit concerned and said I hope she liked me. A rare event I had a quick comeback.
Can confirm we’ve had the daily check remove the trash also. If we’re in the room they’ve also asked about coffee, lsundry soap. We’ve enjoyed chatting with them.
What you might find missing varies with your stay. Once at WL (years ago) we had no frying pans at all. Called and asked and one was brought but it was weird in some way that I’m not recalling. Like still not useful for our purpose.
While wondering how can there be no frying pans we shifted to Plan Next.
We’ve never had a problem getting a kettle or extra pans if we need them.
One thing that we always wish for are better kitchen knives.
You can always ask for extra dish-soap, coffee, detergent. Although we often end up buying some detergent from the Contemporary store.
Clothes pegs for keeping curtains closed are useful. We also have a travel washing line with pegs/hooks attached. The retractable line over the bath is good for swim stuff but I like to use my own for teeshirts and anything else that cant be tumble dried.
If you have an “inside the curve” room the laundry room has lots of racks that can be used too.
A non slip mat for using in the over-bath shower is also useful.
Thanks @Nicky_S , good to know we can always ask for extra supplies of the basics if needed. I’ll probably bring some, but it won’t be bad if we run out. I like the clothes peg idea too.
When I was coaching middle school robotics, I flew with groups of children a handful of times and we usually ended up on a bumpy flight. I learned fast that gallon ziplock bags make excellent barf bags. Much easier to “hit” than those little things the airlines distribute—reducing need to store dirty clothes and do laundry, and the seal holds. Clear isn’t the best look for disposal, but worth it, because ziplocks pack flat and play big.
I’d definitely bring extra laundry detergent and maybe a few dishwasher pods too. I’ve also found the Alaska Airlines page useful for checking specific travel details like reservations, baggage, cancellations, refunds, and account issues, so it’s handy to have when planning the trip and sorting out flight details.
