Oooooh!!! High five for that one! Yes! Bathtub goes to my number 4. That’s often something I look for in the comments, but even better if it’s a dropdown.
I agree with those that said Rack Rates do not matter…I’m never using the tool until after I’ve booked…
I also agree with the importance of connecting vs. non-connecting…as an often solo female traveler that has had a drunk person try and get in through the connecting room door before (not at a Disney property)
I prioritize that unless it is absolutely not an option.
after that…
- Room Type & Beds
- Secondary View
- Features (I am including connecting vs. non-connecting here…if that’s not where it belongs, then this probably drops in priority)
- Location Preference 1
- Location Preference 2
- Distance to Transportation
- Distance to Lobby
- Theme
- Floor
- Sound Level
- Accessibility (I am another who is lucky enough to not need this feature at this time…but it must be much higher on the list for those that do)
- Pet Friendly
Me too.
Agree. I will sometimes use the “known connecting rooms only” filter to see which rooms I DON’T want. Maybe that filter can be changed to “non-connecting rooms only” or be given the option of both.
Love room finder to pick "perfect " room even knowing it’s likely not to happen!
Our main items are bed configuration
Interconnecting- we’ve often wanted this travelling with grandparents.
View- eg at AKL looking for partial Savannah.
Like the idea of bathtub - that would’ve been good to know when travelling with toddlers
- Room Type & Beds
- Secondary View
- Location Preference 1
- Location Preference 2
- Features
- Distance to Transportation
- Distance to Lobby
- Theme
- Floor
- Sound Level
- Accessibility
- Pet Friendly
I very much agree with the talk of accessibility put right to the top. That way you have it for those that need it right there, and for those that don’t, you go with non-accessibility to not take up an accessible room.
I do also like the idea of connecting/non-connecting. Unless we’re booking a 2br or family suite, we always need 2 connecting rooms. I have used the connecting rooms, so it would be good for those who want the opposite to be able to easily toggle for it.
After that, what I have used/would use most:
- Room Type & Beds
- Floor (we avoid doing luggage and strollers in elevators at all costs - so ground floor is far preferable to us)
then I care to know about but guide my choice less, about the following:
- Location Preference 1
- Location Preference 2
- Distance to Lobby
- Theme
- Secondary View
- Distance to Transportation
- Features
then I never use but I know others would find useful
10. Sound Level (since we prefer ground level this doesn’t ever work with that request, also we are all pretty heavy sleepers and for the couple that aren’t, we have multiple ways to turn on white noise via phones or a travel air purifier running on high or even using one of our many neck fans to create background noise)
11. Rack rates
12. Pet Friendly
I have occasionally used room finder when looking at rooms to book and deciding between a couple of resorts.
But never Rack Rate.
I agree with Rack rates can be deleted. I use the room finder after I have booked the room.
Ever since we had a speedy racer snake sneak into the room behind us, my first click is on upper floor, lol, also to aleveate some outside noise.
@Len … are you planning to dynamically remove Secondary View as a criteria based on occupancy date?
- Floor
- Room type and beds
- Secondary view that was booked for reservation
- sound level
- location preference
- location preference
- distance to lobby
- distance to transportation
- features
- theme
- pet friendly
I don’t know how feasible it would be, but is a “connecting or not connecting” filter possible? There’ve been times I see a perfect view only to see that it’s a connecting room when I look at the details. Personal preference to request not if at all possible.
Thanks for updating this! It’s one of my favourite features of TP! Chat with the Liners are #1!!
- Room type
- Location preference 1
- Location preference 2
- Secondary view
- Features
- Theme
- Sound
- Floor
- Distance to lobby
- Distance to transportation
- Accessibility
I never use rack rate as I look after I book. We’ve used the room request feature many times. It’s worked best the last couple trips at Caribbean Beach. It has never worked at Pop or POR or CSR. But that’s on the resort staff, not TP.
I would actually like for more people to make the public comments on the room.
I think i have before when I had an issue: weatherstrip causing loud noise and all the USB ports being broken.
Checking the room finder is the first thing I do when I get my room ready text
![]()
Question - when people leave a comment about the room or submit photos, could they answer a yes/no question? Would you stay in this room again? Or would you recommend this room?
Then you could have a catagory for TP user recommend rooms. That is what I look for but have to click through the different rooms.
Generally, my first thing to make sure I am looking at DVC versus not. (If I am staying on points, I don’t want to see rooms in Boardwalk Inn, for example.) And number of points a room takes would be nice. (That is, only show me room less than a certain point cost…or if paying cash, less than a certain $ amount…but perhaps that is TOO dynamic.)
Second thing I care about is studio versus one bedroom, etc.
After that, probably which floor or how close to elevator.
Noise matters…if it is accurate.
- Room type
- Accessibility (visual alerts = peace of mind while my hearing aids charge.)
- Sound
- Location preference 1
- Location preference 2
- Secondary view
- Distance to transportation
- Features
- Theme
- Floor
- Distance to lobby
I’ve used room views to decide between resorts.,
I think Secondary View is always there - it’s based on room type, not date. But I’ll check.
The problem with “quiet” is that honestly can vary depending on who your neighbors are. A room could be quiet at the beginning of a stay but loud at the end because people in rooms around it changed midway through.
Is there an option to sort by TP Picks? I was going room by room. Would be nice to sort on that.
