New Color Palette for Cinderella Castle. Updated with progress photos

Haha, probably true though

This is what I’m saying. Can we just keep it the same color so I don’t have scaffolding in my castle pictures?!

Oh, the number of upset guests when they changed it to the bubblegum castle for the 25th or the Stitch Was Here TP (not Touring Plans, the other TP) Castle

Florida is tough on paint. It needs to be repainted anyway so even if they kept the current color change there would still be scaffolding in your pictures

Good point!

Honestly, the current paint has held up amazingly well. It could probably go a few more years. (They mentioned that they use automotive paint, so it should hold up to the sun pretty well.)

Eventually, they have no choice, though. I just wish they weren’t going back to the original colors.

It looks to me to be slightly different than the original colors, and hopefully in a good way. :crossed_fingers:

Based on a comment made in the latest We Are Imagineering, it sounds like they are trying to match it exactly, but they don’t have some exact reference to use, so they are doing their best approximation. That is why they are saying “inspired by”.

By the way, I watched this and loved this episode! I was kind of chuckling to myself that you found it boring. Granted, some of the information I had already seen in previous behind the scenes documentaries, but still – I find the origin of the castles to be fascinating.

Not boring. But rather, it is called “We Call It Imagineering”, and this episode spent almost ZERO time actually talking about the Imagineering itself. They had many opportunities to, but then…didn’t. Like, take for example where they talked about the boat going under the castle, and how that happened. But they NEVER talked about the Imagineering aspect of it. Only that, “Well, originally we didn’t plan to, but then we did.” Um. Yeah.

So, if they had called this a video that was covering the different castles, fine. It was fine. But it was NOT what I would expect in a series about Imagineering.

Well Imagineering is all aspects of design. Are you saying you wanted them to focus more on the engineering? Or something else?

They spent almost NO time on design. They interviewed Imagineers, but very little actual design/engineering discussed. It was a heavy component in the previous episodes. This one…crickets (mostly).

ETA: Another example. They mentioned how the one castle is a castle on top of the Disneyland style castle. Great! That’s cool! So…how did that work? What challenges did you face? What drove that decision? But…barely a mention except to show a clip of them assembling the castle on top of the old one. Very frustrating.

Disney says this will begin early in January, and continue until late 2026.

It’s looking so gorgeous! Just changing the pink to white is enough to make it pop! I love the blue and the gray.

I do like this - I think better than the pre-Covid color scheme? I think a lot of it will depend on what they do with the roofs and the trim. I think the gold toppers, etc. are key to the look. If it’s too gray, it turns out brutalist, IMO. Like a concrete bunker.

I’m still sad they are changing it. I mean, at first I wasn’t sure about the pink, but I kind of fell in love with it the more I saw it in person. So, the fact it is going back to gray just feels so…blah.

But if you had told me I would feel that way when they first started to paint it pink, I would have laughed. So, I guess I’m fickle.
